Egarran
03.26.17 | Currently listening to Beneath Broken Earth by Paradise Lost. The whole album is great, but that song is elite doom. |
BootCamp
03.26.17 | original doom soundtrack |
Dedes
03.26.17 | I heard a small amount of Paradise lost and thought they were solid, I think it was a song or two from their most recent record? It was certainly some time back, but yeah dude i'll listen to Paradise Lost whenever I get the chance. I know they're pretty highly revered. |

Egarran
03.26.17 | "I know they're pretty highly revered."
Yup, part of an early movement with My Dying Bride and Anathema. Those three bands alone should satifsy your doom needs for a long time. |
Dedes
03.26.17 | Lol all bands I put off but will definitely get too :) I've heard "Turn Loose the Swans" is really fucking good. |
JayEnder
03.26.17 | Lord Mantis - Pervertor |

Papa Universe
03.27.17 | Some people went head over heels for last year's Sumac (which I don't really get), so maybe check that out. Also Zhrine. |

03.27.17 | Saint Vitus
Pentagram
Reverend Bizarre
Head of the Demon
Cauchemar
Solstice
Confessor |
Dewinged

Archelirion
03.27.17 | Mournful Congregation (funeral doom)
Thergothon (funeral doom)
Arcana Coelestia - Le Mirage de l'Idéal (kinda symphonic BM funeral)

Keeper - The Space Between Your Teeth (sludge)
Thou [2] (sludge) |

03.27.17 | If u love Candlemass, you will love Avatarium, its basically the same band with female vocals. Another similar band is Blood Ceremony, with the exception that they have some stoner rock tunes, not completely doom.
Also, Anathema's early works. |
hikingmetalpunk
03.27.17 | the fellas above pretty much covered it.
"saint vitus - born too late" should be ur next stop if u haven't already |
Dedes
03.27.17 | Yeah man, I'll listen to them soon, I know they're supposedly one of the most original doom metal bands alongside Sabbath and Pentagram |
Spacesh1p
03.27.17 | Check Thou ASAP dude best band ever |
BenCee
03.27.17 | Hmmmm... I would suggest:
Usnea - Self-Titled
Mizmor - Yodh
YOB - Clearing the Path to Ascend
Indian - From All Purity
Cult of Occult - Fives Degrees of Insanity
Un - The Tomb of All Things
Just some of my more recent favorites :D |

03.27.17 | lots of great stuff recced already so I won't add more since you're not gonna get through these anytime soon
Will second:
Warning
Worship
Thou
Saint Vitus

teamster
03.27.17 | I never understood the doom tag for Enshine. They are melodic death metal and post rock. There are very few other similar bands like them. Jari Lindholm is a genius. I recommend checking his other projects too : Slumber, Atoma, Seas Of Years. |
Dedes
03.27.17 | I see the doom influence because while they aren't necessarily "depressing" they have this very sluggish, slightly melancholic vibe. I'd say they're like 90 percent melodic death metal and like 10 percent doom tbh. |
Deathconscious
03.27.17 | check my doom list, its top notch stuff. mostly things ive rated a 4 or higher.

03.27.17 | I will rec you stuff that's similar to the bands/albums in your list
For albums similar to Candlemass, try these:
Solitude Aeturnus, While Heaven Wept (debut), Isole (throne of void), Scald
For Enshine:
Slumber, Rapture
For Ahab:
Worship, Mournful Congregation, Evoken
For Draconian:
My Dying Bride, Novembers Doom, Paradise Lost, Swallow the Sun |
Keyblade
03.27.17 | ^ good recs |
Deathconscious
03.27.17 | everything by pagan altar [2]
although theyre doom in the oldest sense of the word and even then they have that heavy NWOBHM influence. but id still recommend the fuck out of them. |
budgie
03.27.17 | yeah. traditional doom, i guess, like epicus doomicus metallicus. not many bands got that sound right, but pagan altar and candlemass nailed it |
Keyblade
03.27.17 | solitude aeteurnus too |
emester
03.27.17 | Corrupted
Skepticism
Grief
Dolorian
Unholy
disEmbowelment |
Egarran
03.28.17 | "solitude aeteurnus too"
I had a few years of this pretty much being my favourite band. Crimson Horizon and Darkest Hour are just sublime albums.
(I've been listening a lot to Demon Lung's A Dracula, which is sort of the same American riff doom, but for some reason nobody else likes them.) |
HarshNoiseHenry
03.28.17 | If in the woods… wasn't rec'd then listen to omnio it lit. U also like doom death? |
