Iron Fist Disappointment Thread

Marvel, what have you done?

Snow Gives Way: 3.5/10
From the mundane, exposition-heavy opening, to one of the worst cut outs of any television episodes I ever seen, Iron Fist is a heart-wrenching disappointment. Entire scenes and conversations serve to explain and pander to the audience, others take ten minutes when they could have taken two. It's simply bad television, nothing interesting or extraordinary about it, and even though the visual style is more interesting than many other shows, it's flat and ugly compared to the wonders of Marvel's past Netflix shows.

Shadow Hawk Takes Flight: 4.5/10
While introducing a few interesting questions and elements and it's more focused than the first installment, this one still features ridiculous scenes with little to no merit, and repeats the same beats and dialogue over and over. As overlong as it was, this one showed way more promise than the previous episode, and maybe if the two were condensed into one it would've served as a solid pilot.

Rolling Thunder Cannon Punch: 5.5/10
These titles are getting hilarious. This episode, while in no way good, was a significant step in the right direction. Several scenes seem to be structured toward moving the plot forward in an interesting way, even while there are still many dedicated to exposition and redundancy. Some characters are growing more interesting, some choices were actually clever, and the visual style definitely took more of a hold. However, the show's, and specifically this episode's, greatest flaw is that our protagonist seemingly has no goal, albeit a clear one (the first rule in screenwriting (unless this is an art film (which it isn't))), and thus the series has little to no direction.
