Dewinged 01.26.17	I just finished my speedrun, 2h49m! Only got Madhouse difficulty left. Game is nuts man, very gore and scary, especially on VR. Also if you didn't get sick with the demo you will be fine.

DinosaurJones 01.26.17	Awesome, I'm glad to hear that. I didn't get sick with the demo at all. There's no rhyme or reason to which games make me nauseated, it seems. First person seems to be a big culprit, but I think it's just the camera in some games.

DinosaurJones 01.26.17	I hope not! Outlast was all right, but I lost interest in it partway through. And the ending was completely out of left field and WTF worthy, and not in a good way.

DinosaurJones 01.26.17	I played through the Kitchen demo on VR. There was no actual gameplay, but it was still scary as fuck. I didn't do the Beginning Hour Demo in VR, because they added it late, but it was still good without the VR. Though you had to do some truly ridiculous hoop-jumping to get the "true ending."

Papa Universe 01.26.17	RE7 was like a subtler, but ultimately somewhat more well done version of the Evil Within. Just seems that way for some reason.

Gyromania 01.28.17	it's obviously similar to outlast, snox. sure you have weapons in this game, but there's that same insistence on just running away from encounters and hiding, and that fear of pressing onward too quickly. i think it builds tension very well
Astral Abortis 01.28.17	yeah but that's not an outlast thing, that's a resident evil thing and always has been it's really not similar to outlast aside from the fact that it's first person and survival horror
Brabiz 01.28.17	Aside from the intro, this has to be one of the most faithful old school survival horror games out right now. The layout, the fact that it's a single area blocked off by puzzles and locked doors. It plays and feels like Resident Evil 1, but in first person. The Outlast comparisons are ridiculously unfair and don't really hold up at all. This is one of the best Resident Evil games yet.

JeetJeet 01.29.17	This is fun so far, but it has its flaws. For a game that pretty much plays itself its cool. I just escaped the house and I'm outside with a shotty so things better start getting lit.
DinosaurJones 01.31.17	I'm at the same spot as you, Jeet. We decided to forgo the VR, because it made me barfy. Moreso watching my friend play than when I was playing. It's pretty cool though, I'm really feeling a lot of old school RE vibes from it.
DinosaurJones 02.07.17	So we're taking it slow and sweet, since my friend and I are playing it together on shareplay, but I have to say, I'm really enjoying this game a whole lot. I love all the callbacks to RE1 and other older REs, and it's honestly just a tense, creepy atmosphere. We're still in the old house, but damn, what an enjoyable game.
TheSpaceMan 02.07.17	Yeah looking to get it, love the older RE games but I'm not a fan of 1st person horror when it becomes a walking simulator. Hopefully it avoids that

DinosaurJones 02.07.17	I recommend it, SpaceMan. There have been a few moments where I've had to just stop and compose myself and relax from being so tense. And I love horror games, haha.

kris. 02.07.17	genuinely frightened me for most of the first half and then the second half was kinda bleh but still a really fucking solid game. did a speedrun on easy after i beat it and got through it in i think 2h40m? didn't think i'd make the 4 hour cutoff for the achievement so that was pretty neat
Dewinged 02.08.17	Yeah SpaceMan, I wouldn't go that far as competetive speedrunning, I always do it for PS trophies, like the recent ones for Uncharted, etc. I love Dark Souls so much that I speed ran it several times, but nothing serious. About old RE games, well I remember doing some RE2 speedruns back in the day, but it's only a hazy memory ;)
