Astral Abortis 01.24.17	Man this is the most depressing list of d-list Xbox games I've ever seen. This Summer I'm gonna be playing tonnes of Resident Evil 7, Overwatch, Tyranny, Diablo 2, and maybe catch up on some Dark Souls 3 so I can be ready for the DLC later this year.

talktothehead 01.24.17	Ya that's so retarded. Funny thing is it's almost outsold the xbox version already. On amazon it was outselling Uncharted 4 for a few weeks. It's really good man, better than UC4. It has a lot of cool side content. Not the best game ever but really great. Get to it when you can, the PC version is pretty well optimized if you have a Laptop or something.
Rolling Girl 01.24.17	If you're gonna play army of two, I'd start with the first one as I feel it's a bit more accessible. I'm gonna need to get FFXV, AC Syndicate, and Halo Wars 2 when summer comes. I also got the first Outlast free but I need to make a commitment to that game.

Astral Abortis 01.24.17	Playing RE7 now, I'm very impressed. Firstly, the steelbook edition that sells at the exact same price as the regular edition comes with a free copy of Resident Evil 4 HD. Not just a digital download - a physical fucking copy. That is so high on the list of things that developers DON'T need to do, but the fact that they actually did it has made me infinitely happier than if I just got a digital copy (which I already have) - now I can display my physical copy of RE4 with the rest of my games. Love it. Onto the actual game: it's extremely similar to the original Resident Evil, with even more dynamic content, things to do, interesting puzzles, etc. I'm still very early into it, but there's already been a minor reference to an obscure RE character from the canon - so I can only hope to expect they'll flesh out the pre-set canon even more in this game, which is promising. They have brought back the original typewriter save system, but mostly for nostalgic flair rather than actual dynamic use - which is a bit of a bummer. These new "cassette player" save points don't really bring the same survival opportunity the typewriters did, since you can go back to them and save as many times as you like. I was really hoping I'd have to find limited cassette tapes in order to save my progress like the ink ribbons. Not a HUGE deal but it does relieve a lot of the tension the original game had. But the inventory management, themed doors with different obscure keys, and the constant fear of the unkillable residents of the mansion always looming over your every footstep is an amazing dynamic that makes every moment tense. And the old-school slow door opening load screen is reimagined by making you hold every door and pushing it open slowly as you go through, to reimagine that tension you feel when you have NO clue what's on the other side. So far I am amazed at how they went from the absolute shit-show that was RE6 to this. I know they backtracked to some of the series roots with Revelations 1 and 2, but this is basically 100% back to the original spirit of the game and then some. The campiness isn't so over the top that it's stupid, but it's still very kind of "silly" with its story and characters in a really awesome b-horror way. I keep meaning to save the game and go play Overwatch for a while, but I just can't drag myself away it seems. So far: TRUE RETURN TO ROOTS FUCK YES RE7 RULES

Astral Abortis 01.24.17	:O I bought it with a bonus download that said I unlock the madhouse difficulty but for some reason it wasn't there when I loaded up the game, so I just went on normal...maybe I should restart just to get that? Because that's what I want!
Dewinged 01.24.17	I don't know man, if you pre-ordered it should give you the option when you start a new game. But I warn you, madhouse rearranges enemy locations and item locations, feels totally different and it's really brutal. My advise is to take it slow on a normal playthrough, then tackle madhouse. Believe me, you will need a second playthrough anyway.
Astral Abortis 01.24.17	Most RE games need multiple playthroughs, but I always like going on the hardest difficulty first. But i'll continue on normal for now and have a more challenging and intense madhouse playthrough after this. I didn't pre-order but obviously went out and bought it today as soon as I woke up

Astral Abortis 01.24.17	The intro of the game is a bit bogged down in that kinda mindset and takes you through some boring quicktime event-like parts, but once you get into the main house it's 100% ENTER THE SURVIVAL HORROR

Astral Abortis 01.25.17	Yeah I've played most Resi Evil games except 3 and Code Veronica sadly, I love them all including 5. 6 is an abomination on gaming.

Astral Abortis 01.25.17	I thought it was the hardest in terms of ammo, movement and enemy damage. In all the games prior it was usually optional to kill zombies, conserving ammo was much easier because you could more or less ignore most enemies. Resident Evil 4 changed that.

TheSpaceMan 01.25.17	Yeah REmake is phenominal. I guess it's all opinion but in my eyes no way is re4 harder than 0. I mean its not even close. Co op made re0 harder, and those fucking monkeys man. Plus there's like 4 herbs on normal and higher (remember the older resis normal was basically hard mode since there's like three different easy options beneath it)

One boss specifically had probably 50% of people reset their game first playthrough because they realized how much they fucked themselves preparing for it. It's funny reading forums about people flaming it lol
