Shinedown Albums Best to Worst

Ranking the albums by hard rock band Shinedown, who are probably my favorite band.
1Shinedown
Leave a Whisper

A very powerful debut album with plenty of memorable tracks. Heavy songs such as "Crying Out" and "Fly From the Inside" really stand out, but the ballads are great as well. Lead singer Brent Smith really delivers some amazing performances on the likes of "Lost in the Crowd", "Burning Bright", and "In Memory." Massive hit "45" is the best of the bunch, but there is not a bad song on here. "Leave a Whisper" really shows Smith at his best. He shows more emotion on this album than any other.
2Shinedown
The Sound of Madness

This was Shinedown's breakthrough commercial success. "Second Chance" was enormously popular. Over half of the songs are ballads, but heavier songs such as "Sin With a Grin" and the title track add a very nice touch. This was the band's first release with guitarist Zach Meyers, and his performance for much of the album is outstanding. "Call Me" and "The Crow and the Butterfly" are my two personal favorites. If I had to choose between the two I think I'd go with "The Crow and the Butterfly."
3Shinedown
Us and Them

Some fans were disappointed that the band's second release did not have the raw power of "Leave a Whisper." However, this album has more creative musicianship to make up for the lack of power. The seven-minute-long "Lady So Divine" is evidence of that. It contains an impressive instrumental section, and is my personal favorite on the album. Smith's vocals are still on point, especially in tracks such as "Someday" and "Shed Some Light." It seems that because it was sandwiched between two other great albums, "Us and Them" is often overlooked. It is certainly an underrated album.
4Shinedown
Threat to Survival

This is Shinedown's latest release, and it has received plenty of negative reviews. I agree that it's definitely not their strongest album, but it's still solid. Songs such as "Outcast" and "Thick as Thieves" get old way too fast, but they are outweighed by several catchy and fun songs. Lead single "Cut the Cord" is the heaviest song on the album, and also the best. Tracks such as "How Did You Love", "It All Adds Up", and "Black Cadillac" all sound different than anything else Shinedown has released. And I definitely mean that in a good way.
5Shinedown
Amaryllis

I mentioned that Shinedown is my favorite band, so I honestly don't think they have released a bad album. However, Amaryllis is their weakest to this point. Lead single "Bully", which I actually think is a pretty good song, has pretty cheesy lyrics. The same can be said for "Miracle." "My Name (Wearing Me Out)" is one of the weakest tracks the band has to offer. It tries too hard to be heavy and feels very forced. However, these weaknesses are balanced out well by some very enjoyable tracks. Album opener "Adrenaline" starts things off with a bang. As the title suggests, it is very fast-paced. The title track and my personal favorite "Enemies" are infectious, and help make "Amaryllis" a listenable album despite its flaws.
