10.01.16 | atmospheric science here
roguenine is also a meteorologist and by a crazy turn of events i actually met him in a google hangout a few days back without either of us knowing |

10.01.16 | Yeah that was wild. |

10.01.16 | and yes RI in the face of moderate to strong shear is certainly out of the ordinary |

10.01.16 | joe bastardi is a nutjob though |

10.01.16 | I mean I know you'd probably dislike Ryan's politics as well (he's pretty hardcore Republican) but to my knowledge his work is always meticulous and he's not outwardly a retard like Joe. |
GhostOfSarcasticBtrd
10.01.16 | Funny cause Bill Gray was also really right-leaning. The Hurricane boys (excepting Emmanuel although IIRC Lindzen said even he was a registered Republican) seemed to buck the trend. |

10.01.16 | BTW Stranger Heads Prevail is dope af one of the better albums I've heard this year for sure. |

10.01.16 | Why do they always name hurricanes after names people actually like?
Andrew, Katrina, Sandy, Matthew... like name them after some ugly name no one uses anymore like Thelma or something. |

10.02.16 | Gustav and Wilma aren't very good names.
Hope this hurricane doesn't cause any deaths. |
Storm In A Teacup
10.02.16 | Storms in an Ocean are only going to get worse, namely this area of the world. Haiti and others should be evacuated by the top ten countries of the world and a refugee plan needs to be drawn up because there is no hope for things to get better for some of these places. Global warming is past the prevention stage and should be acted on as if it is currently happening, because it is. |

good luck with it forecast to dump a deluge on one of the worst developed nations in the world where excessive deforestation has led to very unstable slopes (plus they still haven't fully recovered from the earthquake), this is very likely to be a disaster

the problem with this is that there are certain things that are co-current with global warming that suggest it may be difficult for hurricanes such as the expansion of the hadley cells leading to more dry air from the sahara being entrained near the Cape Verde islands (i.e. the primary development region for tropical cyclones in the atlantic), there's also some question whether wind shear will increase at the low latitudes |

10.03.16 | Yeah Blazin, I was gonna say we're talking about Haiti in line, soooo... |
