Closers

Here are my favorite album closers...share yours in the comments
15Dire Straits
Love Over Gold

It Never Rains

In an album full of amazing guitar work, of course Knopfler had to send it off with one of his best guitar solos of all time. Very intense stuff.
14The Jesus Lizard
Goat

Rodeo In Juliet

Perfect end to a noisy experience
13Alice in Chains
Alice in Chains

Over Now

Bittersweet. RIP Layne.
12American Football
American Football

Stay Home/The One With the Wurlitzer

It's like everything they just put you through in the previous 7 songs all comes pouring out into a grand finale of feels.
11Nine Inch Nails
The Downward Spiral

Hurt

Heartbreaking, powerful, unforgettable
10Unwound
Leaves Turn Inside You

Below the Salt/Who Cares

The culmination of all that is Unwound and the end of their career. Amazing song.
9Rush
Hemispheres

La Villa Strangiato

Of course.
8Robin Trower
Bridge of Sighs

Little Bit of Sympathy

Awesome rocker at the end of a psychedelic experience that is Bridge of Sighs. Great lyrics, great guitar, perfect atmosphere to close it out.
7Neil Young
Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere

Cowgirl In the Sand

Just incredible guitar work here. Solo after solo. Neil delivers with this one.
6Kyuss
Welcome to Sky Valley

Whitewater

Riffs. What else did you expect?
5Drive Like Jehu
Yank Crime

Sinews

Starts off nice with some intertwining guitars and bass giving it the math rock feel. It's starts to hear up more and more as the song goes on with more guitar strumming and higher notes being picked. Suddenly, Sinews kicks into full form and shows you the door.
4The Allman Brothers Band
The Allman Brothers Band

Whipping Post

Quite underrated on this site, but without a doubt a classic. Raw power and energy from the southern jam rockers. That bass in the beginning though.
3The Who
Who's Next

Won't Get Fooled Again

Not much to say other than what's already been said. Classic.
2Can
Tago Mago

Bring Me Coffee or Tea

After two heavily experimental tracks Tago Mago comes to its bitter end starting soft but eventually building up to a loud finish. Though the song sounds mostly like a jam session, it has the perfect sound and feel to be the bookend of the album.
1Slint
Spiderland

Good Morning, Captain

Infamously known for being one of the greatest closers of all time. Not many can top this. Incredible atmosphere is created throughout the album all culminating to the last hoorah leaving you more than satisfied once it is over.
