05.29.16 | Long story short, I'm really hoping they bring it with this game.
I don't wanna be disappointed. |
parksungjoon
05.29.16 | there's no way this game will ever live up to its expectations
|
Anthracks
05.29.16 | Game looks like boring trash anyway. |
Snide
05.29.16 | "Game has been delayed once. This being that once. The release date had never changed since they announced it."
I'm relatively certain I've seen it delayed multiple times before. |
Sinternet
05.29.16 | nope it's the first delay. personally i'm glad that they want to polish it more rather than release it sub-par |
Sinternet
05.29.16 | also it's physically impossible to be mad at Sean |
Snide
05.29.16 | Well shit, I must have been thinking of something else being delayed then. I was so sure I'd seen it being delayed.
Oh well, I still hope this game lives up to the hype. |
rabidfish
05.29.16 | Delays usually mean that the developers actually believe that they should release a game that can be played properly, no crash glitches, so be optimistic.
Rushed games' day-one glitches are hilarious, tho. |
Snide
05.29.16 | "Rushed games' day-one glitches are hilarious, tho."
I'm looking at you Bethesda.
That actually happened to one of my favorite fighting games. Naruto Shippuden Storm 4. They pushed it out the door WAY too early, and it took at least two months to patch all the opening day glitches up. |
Deathconscious
05.29.16 | "Game looks like boring trash anyway."
Lol what. You get to explore whole planets. No load screens, a virtually infinite universe to travel. idk how anyone can look at gameplay footage and not be at least intrigued. |
parksungjoon
05.29.16 | the premise is great but they've shown very little in the way of actual gameplay footage, which is why many are skeptical
delaying to polish it up is a good sign imo |
Gameofmetal
05.29.16 | im def interested in it
there was an article earlier today about how the devs have gotten death threats and shit because of the delay
highkey they need to just cancel the game to spite trashcan ass kids |
Snide
05.29.16 | People who send death threats because of a fucking game being delayed are absolutely over the top batshit annoying.
It's okay to be pissed at the delay of something you've been looking forward to; it's NOT okay to wish death upon the creators because of the delay. |
Anthracks
05.29.16 | Exploring planets sounds like sooooo much fun... |
Snide
05.29.16 | "Exploring planets sounds like sooooo much fun..."
Exploration is a HUGE aspect of a lot of games, and quite a bit of fun. |
Anthracks
05.29.16 | I like gameplay that actually challenges me in some way, so I will never be picking this up. |
Snide
05.29.16 | Mass Effect was somewhat of a boring game though; and it looked boring.
No Man's Sky doesn't really look that boring, it looks like a ton of fun. |
Calc
05.29.16 | "I like gameplay that actually challenges me in some way, so I will never be picking this up."
ding ding ding ding! except i'll prolly pick it up used and return it later. |
parksungjoon
05.29.16 | u mean walking simulators snox? or what |
Snide
05.29.16 | I dunno man I just never got into Mass Effect. I'm all for a good challenge in a game, but sometimes I just like games where I can relax to some nice music, explore, and just forget that I'm not an explorer of some kind for a couple hours. |
Sinternet
05.29.16 | i mean it's been pretty open with the fact that it's fuelled by the player's want to explore, there's nothing holding your hand or guiding you where to go, the point of the game is that you decide what you do. Despite that, i'd like to see an MMO of this scale with factions/politics/battles/more trading/civilizations/cities, it would no doubt be an amazing game in that case, but i think we are still a decade or so off tech and procedural generation wise to mnake that happen. |
Snide
05.29.16 | "Even that Ark dinosaur game that was blowing up a year or two ago just looked downright terrible to me."
You're actually not wrong on that, I tried it and was pretty bored. I wouldn't discredit the entire genre though, there are quite a few gems. |
Sinternet
05.29.16 | also Mass Effect is GOAT |
Snide
05.29.16 | I just don't want to be as disappointed with No Man's Sky as I was with Fallout 4. New Vegas was my shit and playing 4 bored me to tears. |
parksungjoon
05.29.16 | this is a music site
-torts |
Snide
05.29.16 | Because one of the great parts about New Vegas was its exploration for me; I loved just being able to lose myself in the wasteland, just as I'm excited to lose myself in planetary exploration. |
treeqt.
05.29.16 | "Mass Effect was one of the greatest games of all times. "
boy |
parksungjoon
05.29.16 | mass effect is not a console exclusive although the fact that you seem to think that is rather telling |
treeqt.
05.29.16 | it's actually forbidden to like console games period but that's not the issue with mass effect the game play is just terribly boring |
Snide
05.29.16 | "it's actually forbidden to like console games period"
I've got a really nice gaming rig and I don't think there's any issues with console games, they've got some damn nice exclusives (Ratchet and Clank yo) |
parksungjoon
05.29.16 | treeqt check battletoads bro |
ConcubinaryCode
05.29.16 | It looks like a beautiful game but the fact that they've shown us carefully selected segments of gameplay tells me there will be lots of downtime in this game. I also don't know what it's going for but it seems like it's going the minecraft route of making your own fun just without the building and creativity. The only things I know it has going for it is the art style and it's vastness and I don't see how that can entice too many people but I guess we have to wait when it comes out. |
parksungjoon
05.29.16 | i mean you can pretty much just buy a pc and play on it for 5-6 years without having to upgrade but ok bro keep being contrarian (and in this case factually wrong as well) |
parksungjoon
05.29.16 | planescape and old fallouts are the tits tho |
treeqt.
05.29.16 | "I've got a really nice gaming rig and I don't think there's any issues with console games, they've got some damn nice exclusives (Ratchet and Clank yo)"
money doesn't make your opinions any less wrong |
parksungjoon
05.29.16 | you can still emulate old consoles fyi |
Snide
05.29.16 | @OvDeath: You don't have Warcraft III? It's on Mac, and you can play with PC users and it's one of my favorite games. |

05.29.16 | i like how you make a point of specifying linux systems as well even though OSX is built on the same underlying systems and there are many linux-based distributions that cater to people who are used to OSX's conveniences
but keep swaggin snox |

05.29.16 | ovdeath idiotic apple pleb confirmed |

05.29.16 | they work out of the box pretty much but ok

trve
05.29.16 | it would be ok with every other system |
ConcubinaryCode
05.29.16 | No sorry the spyro games aren't safe either. The main character controls are so stilted and jerky for a platforming game that requires a lot of precision in movements. It makes it more aggravating then fun. |
trve
05.29.16 | its hilarious how more and more people become denser and denser and buy more and more apple products
wait no its actually sad |

parksungjoon
05.29.16 | trve is getting pretty preachy agreed |
zaruyache
05.29.16 | Bummed about the delay, but at least it gives me time to buy a compy that'll actually be able to run it. My refurbished desktop is great for Skyrim, but I need an upgrade. Might just get an alienware since they don't look obscenely expensive. |
Sinternet
05.29.16 | there are definitely cheaper/better options than alienware |
parksungjoon
05.29.16 | [2] |

05.29.16 | I'll be looking into those, too, probably. I know like zero about computers besides how to change a graphics card without frying the whole thing. |

05.30.16 | it looks gorgeous tho and there isn't actually anything else like it. I'm sure it'll be pretty good. |
anarchistfish
05.30.16 | I'm sure it'll be at least fun for a bit but I'm unconvinced it'll have enough substance to make it really engrossing
but we shall see |
Snide
05.30.16 | I think if they pull off the planet exploration and wildlife AI correctly, it'll be a fantastic game. |
