05.16.16 | SmileNerd - I've given all these bands a couple of tries (except Dillinger), and as much as I liked to, they never grew on me. I gave "Jane Doe" a couple of listens, but I never managed to understand the enormous love it gets from the sputnik community.
JWT155 - Just ordered "The Bled". Awesome suggestion, never heard of them before - thank you!
MalleusMaleficarum - "Kerouac" reminds me a bit of "Dead Swans" in faster with a dose of "The Banner" morbidity in riffs. Cool recommendation - thanks!
MarsKid - "Seasons In Wreckage" is a decent band, but I feel like their cleans are a bit misplaced at times. Saw them a few months/years (?) ago with "Choking on Illusions" - Good times!
I've listened to "The Royal" but only to their EP. I found it pretty much average. Is their LP worth a spin? Sputnik seems to appreciate it so far.
Never been a fan of "I Saw Daylight" though. |

05.16.16 | LP is a complete and total improvement in my opinion. |

05.16.16 | MarsKid - You're right, few tracks into "dreamcatcher" and this appears to be much more inspired.
Calc - "Peace'd out" appear to be complex and fun, but I'll have to give it way more spins to appreciate it to its fullest. Thanks for the suggestion!
Taxidermist - no. no. no.
accompliceofmydeath - I am somewhat familiar with most of your suggestions, not a fan of most of the stuff. Will give "Grade" a shot since I don't know them and they've been suggested twice already. Thanks!
Muppelope + Calc - I wanted to get into "La Dispute" for quite some time, but never really managed to give them a proper listen. Is "Wildlife" a good album for first contact?

accompliceofmydeath
05.16.16 | Grade is so good. Under the Radar is probably in my top 10 releases of all time, but Separate the Magnets is fantastic, too. |
Muppelope
05.16.16 | Calc, yeah ik they're not exactly "hardcore/metalcore," I just thought that based on some of the albums in his list that he might dig them.
If you want to get into La Dispute, yeah Wildlife is probably the best to start off with. I honestly don't love them, they're good, don't get me wrong, I just think they're somewhat similar to Defeater and Touche Amore, not quite as good though imo. And def get on Grade. So underrated. |
Nikkolae
05.16.16 | WSS seems so out of place here but agreed hard it slays This Is The Six, massive props for Miles Away maybe try Capsize or The Suicide File |
BlackLlama
05.16.16 | Red Bled the Sun, BFMV (the Poison only..) All That Remains, Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, Overcast, Blood Has Been Shed, Shadows Fall..... |
iLikeSchlager
05.16.16 | Nikkolae - "Suicide File" is a good suggestion - just read that they had members from "The Hope Conspiracy" will certainly check. Thanks!
BlackLlama - Watched "Red Bled the Sun - The One" - Video looks like "IKTPQ - Say goodbye" and it somehow sounds like 2000s metalcore + a good portion of cheesy lyrics.
I am familiar with most of your suggestion and agree that the only thing listenable by "BFMV" is the Poison. "Overcast" and "Blood Has Been Shed" sound interesting, will give em a proper listen. Thanks! |

05.16.16 | Overcast is a pre KSE/ATR from Mass. Same with BHBS; that was Howard's band before joining KSE. Though they are a lot heavier.
I had completely forgotten that IKTPQ existing before this post haha. |
BlackLlama
05.16.16 | Oh, if you want to go a little more into down the hole check out NAILS. Alot more brutal than everything here, but you may dig it. |

More Than Life? (check love let me go first)
Birds in Row?
Dangers?
Carpathian
Vales (female vocals, good stuff)
Prophets?
Guns up!
Go it Alone
Sinking Ships
Break Even
Exalt (check out Pale Light)
Don't listen to a lot of metalcore but check 'Silent Planet'
And Have Heart of course

05.16.16 | BlackLlama - thanks for the information, but unfortunately I've never been a big fan of ATR or KSE (even though As Daylight Dies was great), but the heavier stuff sounds more enjoyable to me. Nails is not my sort of tea. And yup Stick To Your Guns are cool, but I would prefer their older releases. Still having a problem with their cleans.
Mort. - I've bookmarked your list a few weeks back, working through it step by step. I've reached nr 65 or such. Thanks for the effort you've put into creating that!
Prognoz - I will, thanks!
Robotmagician - currently jamming it, sounds good so far! Thank you.
LewisShaw - I was waiting for someone to finally suggest Modern Life Is War :). Dead Swans are Awesome (reunion YEAHY) and so is Life Long Tragedy's - Destined for Anything. Go It Alone has growen a lot on me in the last months. Sinking Ships are great. And Carpathian`s Isolation is badass. I didn't bother to list Heave Heart, since I assume that this is a baisc for anyone into the genre. I am not familiar with some bands you've suggested but based on the similarity of our tastes I surely will! - thanks a lot! |

05.16.16 | Dead Swans played in my city the other week but I got the date wrong and missed it

05.16.16 | yay another peace'd out fan. they haven't let me down yet rec wise |

05.16.16 | iLikeSchlager - No problem! That album is pretty close, if not, the peak of 90s metalcore. Cave In went in a very, very different direction (as in space rock). White Silence got back to more of a hardcore/metal style and is a very good album. Steve Brodsky is the pretty unheralded master of clean and screamed vocals.
Definitely check out Mutoid Man as well - Fronted by Brodsky and has Ben Koller of Converge on drums. More of a poppy metal band, but I would say they fit into the hardcore/metalcore spectrum. Their two releases are very quick and a lot of fun. |
alienobserver
05.16.16 | the chariot - one wing
all kinds of sweet experimental stuff and really solid metalcore at the foundation |
robotmagician
05.16.16 | @alienobserver yeah, One Wing is amazing. Their record, Long Live, was great too but One Wing was definitely the Chariot at their peak. Scogin's two-piece '68 aren't bad either. |
Trebor.
05.17.16 | Departures |
LewisShaw
05.17.16 | I'd recommend Long Live first for the Chariot tho |

05.17.16 | converge, every time i die, expire, stray from the path, architects |

05.17.16 | also not sure if anyone's rec'd them yet but MISERY SIGNALS |

05.17.16 | PurpleDino - aaaah here we go! Have you checked Of Virtue - Salvation? If you are into Misery Signals you might aswell like em.
LewisShawn - Damn, too bad... I guess I will have to wait quite a while until they tour centre Europe.
Trebor. - Jup I should certainly check them out, heard quite a few people talking good stuff about Departures, but I always tend to forget them. Thank you for reminding me.
Sevengill - That LP is short and straight forward. Might take some time getting used to the vocals but I like that. Thanks! If you dig these guys you might find "Punch" quite enjoyable.
Guilouzzz - And there is the 3th (?) guy recommending Converge. Allright allright allright I will listen to them a few times more! Never been a fan of Architects. But thank you!
