Brabiz: Disturbing Non-Metal Music

Brabiz 02.19.16	Any recs? This kind of specific thing is really hard to find. However, i'm not looking for acoustic music necessarily. Just non-metal music based around really fucked up themes and lyrics. I don't mean just a song either, i'm trying to find bands with consistent themes.

Brabiz 02.19.16	Nicole Dollanganger's new song "Have You Seen Me?" Is actually really metal-ish. Sounding a lot like something you'd find on Chelsea Wolfe's Abyss album. So i'm nlt entirely against large, evil sounding songs with distorted guitars. As long as it's not just straight up metal music

LotusFlower 02.19.16	Been a fan of this chick's work for a while. If you're looking for morbidness mixed with unsettling composition then go give The Paper Chase a spin. They're the indie rock soundtrack to the scariest horror movie of the year. Jandek's Room for the House is just incredibly unsettling singer/songwriting music, also a good example for what you might be looking for. Amigo the Devil takes a lot of inspiration from serial killers and mental insanity, but the sound is standard blues/folk.

Brabiz 02.19.16	Whitehouse scares me but I don't find their music very enjoyable. I'm looking for more conventional music, but with dark undertones. Wings Of Joy by Crane is a good example^

NoStoryBook 03.05.16	You should check out Marika Hackman, absolutely gorgeous voice and well-written, melancholy music. The lyrics aren't always blatantly about fucked up stuff, but they are definitely creepy/eerie and disturbing at times. Delving into more pop/electronic and less lofi, you could check out Melanie Martinez too. Pretty creepy lyrics and the music has a bit of that deranged carnival vibe to it. Her voice is also very nice.
NoStoryBook 03.05.16	Also, the songs "Allison" and "Family Planning" by the band Pepper Rabbit are hella creepy. Good stuff.
