Macabre The t/t on Macabre is a masterpiece, but the album as a whole is dated to hell; so many bad j-rock melodies in there. lol

JigglyPDiddy 02.11.16	I'd call Uroboros more of a Melodeath record, but sweet! You should go for Dum Spiro Spero and/or Arche next if you liked that sound from the band.
Angelboros 02.11.16	I still stand by Vulgar being the band's worst, personally, but in no way am I saying it's bad at all. 6 and 8 are underrated, although I can see why those two records in particular would be tough to stomach (comparatively speaking). Neat ranking, w/e.

By a "Melodeath record" I meant that it's a borderline Melodic Death Metal album, yet that description fails to really conjure up their whole sound. Oh, well.

Vulgar is one of those records with a few awesome songs ("Obscure" ain't one of them ;)), a couple fine tunes, and then about three or four stinkers. I feel that Macabre has aged better than Diru's fourth LP, though that's not really saying much.
JigglyPDiddy 02.13.16	Macabre aged way better than Vulgar. Agreed. Vulgar for the most part is fine, but I feel like people hype it up a lot due to Obscure being in its tracklisting. Obscure is okay, and the chorus is great but it's not even one of their best tracks or one of the best tracks on that album.

EvoHavok 02.13.16	Yes, Vulgar may have its nu-metal-ish moments, but it holds up better for me. Also, the remade tracks from the Macabre album just sound so much better than the originals.

JigglyPDiddy 02.13.16	Macabre and I have a weird history. I hated that album upon first listen as a teen. But the more I listened, the more I liked what I heard. It was the other way around with Vulgar. I don't hate the album by any means, quite the contrary. But nonetheless, Macabre still holds up better for me. To each their own, obviously. It's only my opinion. Haha

It's more like...when you watch a horror movie so many times that the scare factor just dies out, y'know? I lost sleep because of the Obscure PV in my teens. But now I see it and go like "meh, it's not that big a deal anymore."

The atmosphere that video conjures when everything slows down to a crawl, the woman looking at the baby's head on the tree and Kyo twitching uncontrollably is incredible.

Still an amazing record by all means, but I've been enjoying Kisou and Vulgar a little bit more lately.
