10.31.15 | Love Zappa to death and will talk about him with you if you want :P
Rolling Stones are okay and Dylan is respectable. Don't care about Alice Cooper at all... |

10.31.15 | So many people miss out on the Stones, just think they are old man music, or just know the standards, they are not like what you would expect, most don't sound dated at all.
Cooper from 69-74 made unbelievable albums, gore/glam rock, people arond here should love that
You cant even get the picture for Chungs's revenge or Absolutely Free off the site to post all very sad, with all the indie, folk revival fad, people should check out 65-70 dylan |
ffs
10.31.15 | never heard of any of these artists, ill check em out |
wham49
10.31.15 | I feel it is important to go back and find the influences of your favorite bands, and find some more favorite bands |
evilford
10.31.15 | lol
the stones are great agred |
wtferrothorn
10.31.15 | Prince |

10.31.15 | This is probably the only place on the planet where those bands are ignored, so it's alright |
Titan
10.31.15 | might as well add The Grateful Dead |
wham49
10.31.15 | I know, but has been getting a boost lately, I get ignoring them, they are hard to understand |
Titan
10.31.15 | Gimme Shelter is phenomenal |
wham49
10.31.15 | The whole album is rock solid, has a great groove to it, as does the others I mentioned from them |
wham49
10.31.15 | Monkey man from Let it Bleed is super cool |
Titan
10.31.15 | oh i agree bro |
wham49
10.31.15 | When I turned away from the Hair band craze around 90, I go into the late 60's thing, some great stuff. |
Titan
10.31.15 | i actually enjoyed this stuff just prior to the hair band craze......my pops was big into music in which I now possess all of his vinyls......a good 500 of them |
wham49
10.31.15 | Great 500 to have, I always knew it from the parents, but went head first at this point, with some Johnny Cash for good measure |
beefshoes
10.31.15 | I've even really listened to the Stones before aside from the radio hits. |
Sowing
10.31.15 | Killing joke too |
Snake.
10.31.15 | i stopped taking this list seriously after seeing the stones |
Friday13th
10.31.15 | How is Dylan overlooked here? The other three kind of. There are a couple Rolling Stones songs I like, but none of their albums consistently interest me.
Just seems odd when there are great bands that don't even have an album review they're that ignored here. The other day I noticed John Denver gets like NO action whatsoever lol probably deserves it but dang he was crazy famous back in the day. |
wham49
10.31.15 | why snake, the album I have listed has 4 pages of comments, one of the best albums of the late 60's. do you not think they are overlooked, considering some terrible bands have albums with 200 pages of comments I would say the are ignored |
wham49
10.31.15 | Neither does Bing Crosby, but nobody really cares, I picked these Fri., because they are bands that people on this site should be listening too, or at least be well aware of, that many bands still emulate, and still kick ass, I woldn't point them out unless I felt they were worthy of other music fans giving them a listen beyond the radio hits, because I would hate all of these if just went by their famous songs |

10.31.15 | Kashee Opeiah |

10.31.15 | Beach Boys |
ArsMoriendi
10.31.15 | Beach Boys rule, but I wouldn't say that they're criminally ignored, especially not Pet Sounds. |
Friday13th
10.31.15 | I see what you mean wham, but Bob Dylan still doesn't meet that criteria. I mean you could argue he's the best ever and should therefore have as many ratings as Radiohead and Pink Floyd but he's still one of the most popular artists here with very high averages. |
Sevengill
10.31.15 | I freaking grew up on Let It Bleed. So many underappreciated songs on that album, and Gimme Shelter is the Stones' best. |
Friday13th
10.31.15 | Besides Pet Sounds though few seem to bother with the Beach Boys which is a total shame. Smiley Smile, Today!, Sunflower...they have more than one good album! |
wham49
10.31.15 | Ok, true, I'll give you Dylan as far as ratings because people who know him rate him very high but the numbers aren't there, trying to spread the wealth of knowledge.
I rated T.rex the other day, not even a review, blew my mind, very sad. People need to be aware of this band. |
Friday13th
10.31.15 | Paint It Black is my favorite Stones and honestly don't care for most supposed Stones classics. Like what's so special about Satisfaction? Gotta be one of the most repetitive and overhyped songs of the 60s. |
wham49
10.31.15 | I know, I agree, but do yourself a favor and check out the other stuff, Let It Bleed, Beggars Banquet, Exile on Main Street, Sticky Fingers, then you can judge them, satisfaction is not the stones I know, or Look up the song Family. super cool and dark |
Friday13th
10.31.15 | I haven't heard Beggars Banquet but I've heard the other 3. I like a few songs like You Can't Always Get What You Want and Tumbling Dice but I have a hard time with large doses of blues rock. Some of the earlier psychedelic stuff like She's a Rainbow is really nice. |
Snake.
10.31.15 | criminally ignored is like 250 ratings at the very highest, the stones certainly exceed that. |
wham49
10.31.15 | Agree, the Lantern is cool from that period as well |
ArsMoriendi
10.31.15 | PJ Harvey... |
tempest--
10.31.15 | I listened to a bit of Alice a couple years ago when I thought I'd be seeing him at a festival. It got cancelled in the end but I discovered a lot of solid tunes. Don't think he's amazing, I guess he mostly became famous for his image more than his music. A cool listen and definitely overlooked on the site! |
Artuma
10.31.15 | i wouldn't say pj is ignored here, she has just generated relatively little discussion |
JamieTwort
10.31.15 | Fuck Alice Cooper.
Dylan gets plenty of love from the users that matter. |

10.31.15 | Prince [2]

10.31.15 | The stones albums can be sloppy, some of the greatest single tunes of all time though.
Zappa can be hard to digest, the fella is an acquired taste.
Dylan is everything and one of the reasons we are on a music site.
Fuck Alice Cooper [2]

he doesn't really get much love from me though |

10.31.15 | i really should be jamming his music more than i do |
theBoneyKing
10.31.15 | Everyone should jam more Dylan. |
wham49
10.31.15 | Guys, please forget your misconceptions of Cooper, he is now a characature of himself that started around 85, his original band The Alice Cooper BAnd, before he was called Alice put out phenomenal albums from 70-74, |
CamiloG
10.31.15 | As much as I respect Dylan, I could have never been able to get into his music, it just doesn't grab me aside from a couple of tracks. |
wham49
10.31.15 | What albums did you listen to, I can rec some for you believe it or not he is very diverse |
CamiloG
10.31.15 | I've heard the typical recs Blood on the Tracks, Highway 61 Revisited, Blondie on Blondie, Bring it All Back Home, The Times Are a Changin'. The thing is that I've heard that this ones are his best ones and also important landmarks in music history, but I guess his music is just not for me. |
theBoneyKing
10.31.15 | One's appreciation of Dylan depends on how much one appreciates lyrics. While I would argue that he often assembles great musicians around him for great instrumentals, his lyrics (and his singing) often sell the show, for me at least. |
MrSirLordGentleman
10.31.15 | I've never been a Stones fan, I really think they're monotonous and bland, their hits are awesome but overall their albums have only like 2 cool songs for me, plus I just don't get the hype with Jagger's voice
Zappa rules tho p/////////// |
CamiloG
10.31.15 | Agreed with TheBoneyKing's point. |
wham49
10.31.15 | Cool man, not for anybody, try the trilogy starting in 97 with Time out of Mind, then Love and Theft, And Modern times, they are alot like John Wesley Harding, from 67 it is very awesome |
CamiloG
10.31.15 | I guess I will have to give him another opportunity. But I deeply respect him and his contributions to music. |
wham49
10.31.15 | I do to, he does however get the best musicians in the world, his touring band for the last 10 years, is amazing, you don't even notice Dylan, he sits at the side by a piano, the band is the show, man can they play, also in the 60's he had Mike Bloomfield as his studio guitarist |
wham49
10.31.15 | Also not Jaggar's voice, it is his delivery, also lyrics based I think, some dark shit going on in the late 60's, early 70's releases |
