1,000 comments in 8 years

Just hit 1,000 comments. I've been browsing this site since around 2007, I remember checking it out during High School classes, but I never really posted comments. Throughout college and after college, I used the site sparingly, but never really left, mostly lurking. Now that I have an office job, I spend a lot of my time on Sputnik, and I've made ~500 comments in the past two months, as compared to the ~500 I made in the previous 8 years. List is albums that had a huge influence on me.
1Santana
Milagro

I didn't really listen to music much as a young'un. I mostly just listened to whatever my dad would put on, which in retrospect was pretty good. A lot of `70s rock like Led Zeppelin, etc. But Santana was the first concert I ever attended when I was probably around 6 or 7.
2Pokemon
2BA Masta

The first CD I ever bought.
3Daft Punk
Discovery

The first GOOD CD I ever bought. Still one of my favorite albums to this day.
4Red Hot Chili Peppers
Californication

This is the album/band that convinced me to pick up the guitar and bass. Not as into them as I used to be, but still a big inspiration.
5Reel Big Fish
Turn the Radio Off

My first band I joined in high school at age 16 was a ska band. It was a pretty good time. It fell apart after we started graduating though.
6Streetlight Manifesto
Everything Goes Numb

Still one of my favorite bands/albums ever.
7Coheed and Cambria
From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness

This album is ten years old this year. This blew my damn mind 10 years ago, and I still love it.
8Explosions in the Sky
The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place

My first post-rock album. EitS are a bit of a "post-rock by numbers" band, but I still love this album very much.
9Glassjaw
Worship and Tribute

At age 26, I've still only been in one serious relationship. It happened in college, and it was a shitty one. I ended up becoming majorly depressed after it, because I was dumb and didn't know how to handle life. I ended up getting kicked out of college as well. This album helped me through my depressed stupor. I went back to college and finished my degree as well.
10Godspeed you! Black Emperor
Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada

Godspeed are amazing. 'Nuff said.
11Bomb the Music Industry!
Vacation

Jeff Rosenstock is basically my spirit animal.
12Thank You Scientist
Maps of Non-Existent Places

Saw these guys open for Coheed. They blew me away. If you haven't listened to this, do it. An amazing amalgamation of ska, prog, jazz, funk, pop... just a great album/great band.
13Ninja Sex Party
NSFW

It's ridiculous, but I kind of have a man crush on Danny Sexbang, sooooo...
14Protest the Hero
Fortress

They kind of went downhill after this album, but Kezia and Fortress are top notch.
15Thrice
Vheissu

I love all of Thrice's work, and I don't know which album is my favortie. This might be it.
16Rx Bandits
Gemini, Her Majesty

All of the Bandits' stuff has been very good, but their newest album was their best, I think.
17Gorillaz
Demon Days

Just a great nostalgic album for me.
18Between the Buried and Me
Colors

I didn't "get" this album at first. Once I finally sat down and really listened to it, I fell in love with it.
19Parkway Drive
Killing With a Smile

This is about as heavy as I get. Metalcore isn't that heavy, I know.
20Tupper Ware Remix Party
2nite

The bass on this is SO GOOD. Take Daft Punk, mate them with Ratatat, and add a dose of Flea.

And you've got Tupper Ware Remix Party.
