emester 03.15.15	But out of anything I rec'd you Esoteric is probably the most essential listen of them all. Just make sure you have around two hours free since it is one hell of a lengthy album. Its my favorite Funeral Doom album if not my favorite album of Doom in general.

emester 03.15.15	I really dont know what I enjoy more, the crushing atmosphere and raw emotion of Funeral Doom or the grandiose of the Traditional/Epic Doom. I like them both equally I guess
Archelirion 03.15.15	As much as I love listening to doom I've never really gotten into the traditional side of it nearly as much. Also, best way I can describe funeral doom is slow (reaaaally slow), a crushing atmosphere and usually (but not always) featuring very low growled vocals.

Archelirion 03.15.15	Paradise Lost - Draconian Times is pretty cool. Not strictly doom in parts but I think the atmosphere fits nicely.

They're considered one of the pioneers of doom/death along with Anathema and Paradise Lost. They combined doom metal riffing with death vocals and a dark gothic mood. Due to those influences, it's not your typical doom metal band. Based on My Dying Bride, I'd rec you: Anathema - Eternity Paradise Lost - Icon Theatre of Tragedy - Velvet Darkness They Fear (you should definitely check this one as it has a combination of female vocals with male grunts) Katatonia - Brave Murder Day The Gathering - Mandylion (lighter side of doom with incredible female vox) Amorphis - Tales from the Thousand Lakes (a few doom influences. cannot be categorized as a doom record but definitely give it a shot) Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses Macbeth - Romantic Tragedy's Crescendo (if you enjoyed Theatre of Tragedy, check this one too) Saturnus - Paradise Belongs to You Estatic Fear - Somnium Obmutum The 3rd and the Mortal - Tears Laid in Earth

parksungjoon 03.15.15	Oh yeah Dolorian are great for sure. For something more Doom/Post-Metal, I'd recommend Minsk and Battle of Mice. For some filthy Death/Doom, you might want to check out Rippikoulu and Timeghoul. I'd also recommend early Amorphis, early Tiamat and early Orphaned Land (don't be discouraged by their comparatively low scores on this site. :P) The Angelic Process have one of the most crushing atmospheres I've ever heard, but I'm not sure to what extent they'd classify as Doom. Surprised no one's rec'd Cathedral yet, definitely check them out. Also Daylight Dies.

Gameofmetal 03.30.15	I listened to a Ghost song a few years back but it just perplexed me at the time, might need to revisit.
