Mercyful Fate Vs King Diamond

This should be a good battle. What style of King Diamond, do you prefer rmore?
1Mercyful Fate
Melissa

One of the most melodic and purest albums in heavy metal. King Diamond's debut is his
magnum opus. Melissa is an fantastic record with incredible musicianship and consistency
from start to finish. The dark themes and catchy melodies are one of the main reasons, 80's
metal rules.
''5/5''
fav tracks: Satan's Fall, Evil, Into the Coven, Black Funeral, Curse of the Pharaohs
2 Mercyful Fate
Don't Break the Oath

Mercyful Fate has one thing, that a lot of people overlook. ''the guitar work'' Michael
Denner and Hank Sherman are extremely skilled on what they do. Having like 2-3 solos
in one song is remarkable. Don't Break the Oath stills say consistent and has the high
replay factor which is outstanding.
''5/5''
fav tracks: A Dangerous Meeting, Desecration of Souls, Come to Sabbath, Gypsy, The
Oath
3King Diamond
Fatal Portrait

Shortly after Mercyful Fate broke up. King Diamond decided to focus on a solo
career. Fatal Potrait really brought elements from Melissa and Don't Break the Oath
to alive with horror based themes. King Diamond did really well with the lineup,
choosing very talented musicians such as guitarist Andy Laroque and Mercyful Fate
guitarist Michael Denner. Fatal Potrait it's not the strongest album but it's definitely
worth checking out.
''4/5''
fav tracks: The Candle, Haunted, The Potrait, Halloween, The Jonah
4King Diamond
Abigail

King Diamond hits another home run! Abigail has a flawless sound with tight
musicianship. King Diamond's vocals are pitch perfect on here backed up by some
powerful guitar work and the rhythm section really keeps the groove going. Abigail's
sound carries a lot of well thought out horror themes. Abigail is a treat for any
music fan.
''5/5''
fav tracks: The 7th Day of July 1777, Black Horsemen, Mansion in Darkness,
Funeral, Arrival
5 King Diamond
''Them''

King Diamond just proves he is so consistent. What makes Them so fantastic is the
high velocity with songs from different levels of energy. Them keeps the raw
structure with an insanely high replay factor. Them just rules, nuff said.
''4.5/5''
fav tracks: Acquisition Chair, Tea, The Invisible Guests, Coming Home, A Broken
Spell
6King Diamond
Conspiracy

Conspiracy is quite overlooked in the King Diamond discography, it's not the strongest or the most
listenable but i totally understand when someone tells me it's there favorite. Conspiracy still
has the energetic and melodic sound that King and his band have done it so consistently
over the past years. Conspiracy still has awesome musicianship that keeps you on your
toes.
''4/5''
fav tracks: Sleepless Nights, A Visit From The Dead, Lies, The Wedding Dream, At the
Graves
7King Diamond
The Eye

The Eye is a very interesting album, the production is a little off but overall The Eye is
a great album with a high replay factor, it's just not for me when i think top heavy
metal albums, it still rules though
''3.5/5''
fav tracks: Eye of the Witch, Into the Covent, The Curse, Behind These Walls, The
Meetings
8Mercyful Fate
In the Shadows

Mercyful Fate's return to music was at the perfect time. In the Shadows is an
passionate record with powerful energy and insane talent. In the Shadows really does it
well with how each song goes well together and King Diamond's vocals on here really
shows his emotions in what he does and he does it well
''4.5/5''
fav tracks: The Old Oak, Egypt, Legend of the Headless Rider, Is That You, Melissa,
The Bell Witch
9Mercyful Fate
Time

Time is an excellent album that definitely grew on me, at first i kinda thought it was
bland and not for me but i realized to really accept this album for what is. Time has
some very well known songs like The Witches Dance and Nightmare Be Thy Name.
Mercyful Fate really keeps the pace here with catchy melodies and raw
instrumentation from start to finish
''4/5''
fav tracks: The Witches Dance, Nightmare Be Thy Name, Mirror, My Demon, The
Afterlife
10Mercyful Fate
Into the Unknown

Into the Unknown is necessarily an horrible album, it's just not as strong as there
previous efforts. I fell like they were running out on a lot of ideas. It still has does
have it's moment and it's just barely an above average record that's still worth
hearing.
''3/5''
fav tracks: The Ghost of Change, The Uninvited Guest, Holy Water, Fifteen Men (And
a Bottle of Rum), Under the Spell
