Pixies, Slipknot, Catch 22, And Ben Harper Ranked Together
Recents digs ranked together. Missing a few from Ben and one from Catch 22. |
| 19 | | Ben Harper Childhood Home
I actually only heard one song off of this, but it sucked. |
| 18 | | Pixies Indie Cindy
I was actually okay with the first Pixies EP. In fact, I liked it. I just wish they would have stopped
there. |
| 17 | | Slipknot All Hope is Gone
Not a good album, but not completely terrible. |
| 16 | | Ben Harper Lifeline
Ben's cheesiness begins to overtake him a bit here, but there are a few choice cuts. |
| 15 | | Catch 22 Dinosaur Sounds
This is the album with the Kalnoky "diss" on it, so we disciples of Tomas are supposed to hate it, but
honestly it's not a bad song. And given Tomas's few examples of public relations, it may even be on
point. :X Album is surprisingly good as well. Solid 3 |
| 14 | | Slipknot Slipknot
I dig Slipknot's debut, but I don't think it is the best they have to offer. |
| 13 | | Catch 22 Alone in a Crowd
This album caught me by surprise. |
| 12 | | Ben Harper Both Sides of the Gun
Like most double albums that seem to be a double album for the sake of being a double album, this
suffers from filler, but it also contains what is likely to be his last truly great songs. |
| 11 | | Slipknot Iowa
The first six tracks on this album are Slipknot's pinnacle. It gets a little spotty after that, but this
album deserves more credit from fans. |
| 10 | | Ben Harper The Will to Live
We must all have the will to live. |
| 9 | | Pixies Trompe Le Monde
This album was a hard grower for me. I just was not into it at first. It remains my least favorite of
Pixies' true albums, but I now recognize it for the quality album that it is. |
| 8 | | Slipknot Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)
This is the album where Slipknot discovers dynamics in the truest sense and it flows for days. |
| 7 | | Pixies Bossanova
Probably the Pixies' most album like album. The atmosphere on this thing is truly dense. |
| 6 | | Pixies Come on Pilgrim
Bury me far away. Pleeeeeease bury meeeee. |
| 5 | | Ben Harper Fight for Your Mind
My feet are still aching from the walk I took last night. I listened to this album for a large portion of
it. It's a beautiful thing when music clicks with you in such a way. |
| 4 | | Ben Harper Burn to Shine
Just listen to "Less". The stadium esque chanting at the end. So fucking incredible. |
| 3 | | Pixies Surfer Rosa
Bloody your hands on a cactus tree. Wipe it on your dress and send it to me. |
| 2 | | Catch 22 Keasbey Nights
For the longest time, I preferred Streetlight's version of this album, but I have come to realize that
the passion and raw intensity on the OG recording cannot be matched. |
| 1 | | Pixies Doolittle
I don't know what I can say about this album in such a small space. One of the most influential
albums ever and still a masterpiece to listen to in its own right. If you claim to be a fan of
alternative rock and have not listened to this, just stop what you're doing and put it on. |
