08.10.14 | I love cycling and exercise in general with stuff like Uneven Structure, Textures (try the last third of Millstone), Tesseract and the likes. There is something really encouraging about polyrhythms/weird time signatures haha. Converge is dangerous though, I have to agree with you on that, as is anything that involves you wanting to sing a long haha. |
Archelirion
08.10.14 | Haha, I'll agree with Uneven Structure and TesseracT as good for cycling, though I find Textures is sometimes a bit too balls-out heavy to be entirely safe (like the second half of Awake).
There are albums that are bad for cycling, but more because they're suited to sitting down and taking in, as opposed to affecting cycling performance/safety. Things like Cult of Luna and instrumental music (AAL, Funki Porcini, Omega Massif) tend to fall into this. |

08.10.14 | I've been listening to meshuggah long enough to know when to headbang and they are perfect for workouts |

08.10.14 | I know when to headbang... just not how to pay attention while headbanging, apparently. |

08.10.14 | I don't think it is - I've never been stopped by anyone for it, anyway, and I've been doing it for years now. I tend to stick to cycle paths where I can, and half the roads where I live are pretty quiet. |
Eggvander
08.10.14 | Where are you from if I may ask? I agree it can be pretty dangerous to ride your bike without any hearing, but yeah I've never had anything happen to me. The only times I had a few almost-crashes was within city limits with lots of traffic and pedestrians who don't look at where they are walking + reckless drivers. I'm from Germany btw and we have pretty nice seperate bike roads, so that's a huge plus for that hobby. |

08.10.14 | Two of my favorites for cycling used to be "Hold Your Color" and "Immersion" by Pendulum btw. Damn those records are like a huge whip right behind you. You just can't slow down haha... |

08.11.14 | i used to listen to cult of luna, Mota and neurosis allot when i went cycling, lost track of how many times i zoned out and almost crashed into someone or something |

08.11.14 | This is bizarre, but there are only two albums I enjoy listening to while cycling - From Mars to Sirius is one of them. Backbone opening riff is the perfect hill rhythm. |

08.11.14 | I'm from the UK, and although our cycle path network's not the greatest, there's enough of it on my way to work that means by the time I get there it's about half on-road and half on-path. Last time I had a crash it was, thankfully, on an empty road where the bike just slid out from under me, but the last near miss was 3 years ago, and was my fault. I've been more vigilant since then haha!
Yeah, it's sometimes better just to listen to something that doesn't quite grab your attention as much, so frequently I listen to Rammstein while cycling. Not my favourites (not bad though), I just know the songs and they stick to a constant.
What's the other HamishObserves? |

08.11.14 | Haha, my friend gets himself hyped with Rammstein for cycling. I've never been a fan honestly, but some of their older songs are kind of classics and you can't avoid them if you are german. The UK seems to be a pretty cool place for tracks, I saw a couple videos. I want to go and ride up to Scotland one day. Travelling by bicycle is one of the best things in the world. |
HamishObserves
08.12.14 | The other is Black Sabbath's debut. I can still pick up those vintage tones even when riding against the wind. That's why I don't usually listen to music when cycling - I can barely discern what is being played.
Also, go Beastmilk! :) |

08.12.14 | I don't think I've ever seen a person cycling before. Then again, I live in rural US. |
Archelirion
08.12.14 | @Eggvander Haha, yeah I can imagine they're pretty well known there ;) I find the Neue Deutsche Härte scene a bit same-y really, there are differences but at the end of the day it's all industrial to me! And I want to ride in Scotland too, sadly I'm about as far away from Scotland as you can get on the mainland (without being Cornish).
@HamishObserves, that's a pretty good second. Agreed about the wind - one of my favourite bands ever to have walked this Earth is Karnivool, but as soon as the shuffle puts one of their songs one while cycling, it gets skipped as I'd miss too much and get frustrated. Beastmilk rule don't they?
