Shuyin

08.01.14 | i was saving to buy a backup HD, this was such a dick move, i wont have money for either
the data recovery may be around 110 euros, problem is i dont have another HD to transfer the data.. mas, what a mess |
Shuyin
08.01.14 | maybe its something stuck, like the heads or something, the disc has problems starting so something must be blocking it.. i think. really hope its something simple, i had allot of future projects saved there.. plus all my music
what am i gonna do with my life without my tunes? man, this is some sad shit.. |

08.01.14 | Hard Drives are like the cheapest part of hardware on a pc, if you can transfer the data, do it before it's too late since it could become worse
It depends on the beeping, HDD are programed to do a different beep depending on the problem |

08.01.14 | yea but its more than 2Tb of data we're talking here, its at least 90 euros for a brand new one. plus ill need the data transfer which may just be around 200 euros total
i checked the sounds but none of them really resembles the beeping im hearing, im a real zero when it comes to this tho. if i dont have the cash and just keep the hard drive until i gather enough for the transfer, without turning it on or anything, it wont lose data will it? sorry if its a stupid question |
MrSirLordGentleman
08.01.14 | If the data is still there, safe, even if the HDD is having problems, yeah, you can save all of it, if there are damaged files, I doubt it
Also, as I said it depends on the time, maybe, for now, the files are safe, but the problem could grow, who knows? |
Shuyin
08.01.14 | aah dont you comma me, im stressed out which means ill find you and rape you
ugh ill see what i can do for now, if i cant afford the new one ill just have to keep this one safe. i dont think ill buy another seagate tho, this HD had like 1 year or so |
MrSirLordGentleman
08.01.14 | ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Since it won't start, the beeping is the only clue you have so it's hard to know how big the problem is
Yeah, don't use it until you know what the problem is, but Seagate isn't a bad brand, they're cheaper than the rest but I've had pretty good results with them |

08.01.14 | lets see what we can do, got spotify to jam some stuff in the meanwhile, sweet site. hope my net doesnt start crashing again and again while im listening tho |
GnarlyShillelagh
08.01.14 | how many times does it beep? There's usually a pattern in the beeping that corresponds to a different issue.
Mine does this from time to time, beeping eight times. In that case it means your screen is broken. If that's your problem just shut the lid and wait for your comp to sleep/hibernate, and then turn it back on and that should work. |
Shuyin
08.01.14 | my screen? its an external hard drive, the screen works fine
its does beep for awhile then it stops and just makes weird noises, cant remember the pattern very well right now and tbh i dont wanna turn it on to avoid data loss |
Dunwich
08.01.14 | Put it in the freezer. Maybe that will help you at least to save the data. |
Shuyin
08.01.14 | what?
how? |
GnarlyShillelagh
08.02.14 | Oh, my mistake. Thought you meant hard drive on your comp. |
WeepingBanana
08.02.14 | thought this list was about a new exciting genre |
MrSirLordGentleman
08.02.14 | beeping hardware sounds more like music than most dubstep, so yeah, great genre |
Shuyin
08.02.14 | sick tunes, check it out
just kick your hard drive till it beeps, if it doesnt kick it again and again until it does. trve jams m/ |

08.02.14 | Just had to replace my hard drive on my mac (fucking asshole apple "geniuses" were just cunts about everything) all because of a faulty hdd cable, all music gone, had to download something to rip the 18000 songs off my iPod, its been 3 days since it's been replaced and I'm still fucking with shit |
MrSirLordGentleman
08.02.14 | aaaaaaaaaaaaaand that's why the only good thing by Apple is the iPod Classic, everything else by them
(including the company itself) sucks hard |
MuhNamesTyler
08.02.14 | Well I wouldn't go that far, I've owned a lot of their products and this is the first time something has gone wrong because of the manufacturer |
Shuyin
08.06.14 | in 2 weeks time theyll let me know whats up with the HD. cost can go up to 900 euros for data recovery, isnt that fucking sweet? |
