| My Top 10 Punk Rock Bands
Such a difficult list to do, especially if it's a genre, you love dearly. | | 1 | | The Stooges/Dead Kennedys/MC5 Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables
3 bands sharing the number 1 spot? Those bands have such a gorgeous discography, albums such as Fun House, Fresh Fruit for
Rotting Vegetables, Kick Out The Jams, Raw Power, Plastic Surgery Disasters, Back In The USA. They are so perfect in their
own ways. They will always be so defying and legendary for all the right reasons. | | 2 | | Misfits Static Age
Misfits are greatly known for the horror themes and heavy crunching riffs, just pure
dynamics with aggressive power and soul. Misfits have a define legacy and one of the
greatest bands to ever lived. | | 3 | | Husker Du Zen Arcade
Pure hardcore, Husker Du are one of the most defying bands in hardcore punk. They
developed more into alternative style, but still kept such consistency in their
material and never failed to impress me. | | 4 | | Buzzcocks Another Music in a Different Kitchen
I recently just got into this band. Buzzcocks, have such a distinct sound. I really
think Another Music in a Different Kitchen is a forgotten classic, some of the most
energetic hard hitting songs i ever heard. I Don't Mind, Fiction Romance, Fast Cars,
Orgasm Addict, they are real punk and should be respected from time to come. | | 5 | | The Clash London Calling
The Clash are an absolutely perfect band to get you into punk. They have such an
great atitude, swagger and precision with every album they made. The Clash rules,
nuff said. | | 6 | | Ramones Road to Ruin
The Ramones are a classic punk rock band, that everyone respects for all the right
reasons, I adore The Ramones, massively. However, their later albums were just
basically all average, but no one can deny, they brought the house down in the
70's. | | 7 | | Agnostic Front Victim In Pain
Agnostic Front never fails to impress me, they have such a tight power to them and
just pure fun band to rock out too. Their discography is very sublime and the albums
worth checking out are, Victim In Pain, United Blood E.P., Something's Got To Give
and Cause For Alarm. | | 8 | | Minor Threat In My Eyes
Being judged for their straight edge style. Minor Threat brought such a punch to
whole genre, they are fast, loud and furious.. which makes them a define spot for
my top 10. | | 9 | | Sex Pistols Never Mind The Bollocks
As much as i really hate putting the Sex Pistols that low, you got to admit that
Never Mind The Bullocks is a masterpiece in punk rock, God Saves The Queen,
Anarchy In The Uk, Holidays In The Sun and Pretty Vacant are staples and they will
never be forgotten. | | 10 | | Agent Orange Living in Darkness
Agent Orange is one of most overlooked punk bands out there. They have use
great versatility with lots of edge, while using surf punk elements. Living in
Darkness is an excellent album for new comers. But also their whole discog is worth
checking out, even though it's only 3 albums. | |

03.24.14 | Phew, I'm relieved to see that this list lacks pop punk. From what I've heard 3 is awesome. I haven't heard much, but still! | SatanicPeanuts

03.24.14 | As for Black Flag, i respect them and i think Damaged and My War are both fantastic albums, however i can't really get into their other stuff. | Trebor.
03.24.14 | Misfits rule but they have no crunching riffs or dynamics | ArsMoriendi
03.24.14 | Calling something "dadrock" is basically just calling yourself close minded. Talent has no expiration date. | Kman418

03.24.14 | "Calling something "dadrock" is basically just calling yourself close minded. Talent has no expiration date."
calling out 'dadrock' isn't a claim against the quality, it's questioning how diverse someone's taste is. there are some people thoroughly convinced that good music only exists decades ago, and oh how wrong those people are. | Cygnatti
03.24.14 | in short, in some/many cases, calling out 'dadrock' is actually a plea for the opposite of closed-mindedness. | ArsMoriendi
03.24.14 | Yeah, but plenty of people who love 60s and 70s music also love modern music. The term dadrock doesn't work well with
that. Why not Vampire Weekend AND Led Zeppelin? (I don't know I thought of two random bands that apply to both) | SatanicPeanuts
03.24.14 | Lol motley crue | SatanicPeanuts
03.24.14 | KICKSTART MAH HEAAART | Dunwich
03.24.14 | "As much i as i really hate putting the Sex Pistols that low, you got to admit that Never Mind The Bullock is a masterpiece in punk rock, God Saves The Queen, Anarchy In The Uk, Holidays In The Sun and Pretty Vacant are staples and they will never be forgotten."
Finally somebody making sense. | omnipanzer

e.g. Future of the Left | omnipanzer
03.24.14 | This list does read more of a who's who of yesteryear. Don't get me wrong you're speaking my language here but I can definitely think of some newer groups that have taken the place of some of the "old standbys". None of these can be replaced for their influence and place in history alone but as daily listeners my list would be very very different. I can think of a bunch of later punk bands that are simply easier on the ears. | manosg
03.24.14 | Not a fan of punk but Misfits rule. Great list man! | VermTheImpaler
03.24.14 | Dadrock rules, kids these days have a severe lack of respect for the authority. Most of them are just scum. Modern music is cool but the classics destroy everything, lol | Muisc4Life26
03.24.14 | dadrock lol | VermTheImpaler
03.24.14 | Lol, you are so spooky spokky | Muisc4Life26
03.25.14 | spooky indeed lol | Kman418
03.25.14 | im just waiting for the day that anco are rightfully acknowledged as the only relevant band of the 21st century tbh |
