Top 10 Albums Of 2013

Tits. Honorable mentions: Soilwork, Boil, Anciients, Alter Bridge, Fleshgod Apocalypse.
10The Dear Hunter
Migrant

I don't understand how someone could listen to this and not think it's beautiful. Highlights: Bring You Down, Let Go.
9Dead Letter Circus
The Catalyst Fire

A bit disappointing compared to their first album but still has plenty of great material. Highlights: Lost Without Leaders, Lodestar, Say Your Prayers.
8Scale The Summit
The Migration

I love how soft and melodic this prog/metal album/band is. It's different and refreshing. Highlights: Odyssey, Atlas Novus, Evergreen.
7Sevendust
Black Out The Sun

A solid alt/metal album made so much better by one of the best vocal performance I have ever heard. Also contains some of the band's best songs in Faithless, Decay and Got A Feeling.
6Bring Me The Horizon
Sempiternal

Wore off me a little, but is still a major improvement for a band I once considered to be one of the worsts out there. Highlights: House of Wolves, And The Snake Starts to Sing.
5A Day To Remember
Common Courtesy

One of the rare times where an album isn't overhyped. For what it is, it is close to perfect. Highlights: Sometimes...., City of Ocala and Violence.
4Dream Theater
Dream Theater

Another solid album by my favorite band. It's not perfect but the good far outweights the bad in my opinion. Illumination Theory and The Bigger Picture in particular are two of my favorite Dream Theater songs.
3Letlive
The Blackest Beautiful

I love this album no matter how much hate it receives. I just wish the production didn't manage to be both awful and overproduced. Highlights: Banshee, The Priest and Used Cars.
2Protest The Hero
Volition

Contrary to most people, I really liked Scurrilous. Sure, it wasn't as good as Fortress, but it still had its share of great moments. Volition, however, is sooooo awesome! The writing has never been more coherent and most of the songs feel different, which is something I never thought i'd say about this band. Highlights: Clarity, Animal Bones, Mist.
1The Ocean
Pelagial

When an album biggest flaw is its song titles, you're doing something right. Intense, technical and beautiful; an album that totally caught me by surprise. No highlights, the whole album is amazing.
