| Sevendust Albums Ranked
Probably one of the most underrated Alternative Metal bands of the r1990s/2000s, their combination of soulful singing, rock-hard riffs, and funky rmetal drumming has definitely left an impact on me | 1 | | Sevendust Animosity
The band's 3rd album is their defining record, packed to the brim with impressive
melodies and strong songwriting. It manages to be the perfect combination of their
aggressive origins and their melody-central later years | 2 | | Sevendust Sevendust
The band's heaviest album by far, and not too far behind Animosity in terms of
quality, songs like "Black", "Terminator" and "Bitch" have no problem getting a mosh
pit started | 3 | | Sevendust Alpha
Many fans of the band write this album off simply because it's part of the Sonny
Mayo-era of the band, but this record in reality is one of their best, acting as a
midway point between the sounds of the self-titled and Animosity (with added
experimentation in songs such as the 9 minute "Burn") | 4 | | Sevendust Black Out the Sun
A return-to-form for the group after two admittedly average records, BOTS
manages to bring to mind a more technical version of the band's early work | 5 | | Sevendust Home
A decent, albeit slightly disappointing follow-up to the self-titled debut, this album
starts strong with tracks such as "Denial" and "Reconnect", then loses steam pretty
hard after track 7. The closing song "Bender" with Chino Moreno rules however | 6 | | Sevendust Cold Day Memory
While many fans were happy to see original guitarist Clint Lowery rejoin the band
after being absent for 3 years, his reunion album with the group was a mixed bag.
Some songs like "Strong Arm Broken", "Splinter" and "The End Is Coming" are good
representations of the band's new technical ability, but others like "Unraveling" and
"Better Place" come across as over-polished (thanks but no thanks Johnny K) and
unimpressive | 7 | | Sevendust Seasons
This album found the band at their most commercial sounding, and while "Enemy"
and "Face to Face" have become live favorites, the majority of the album contains
a good deal of faceless pop | 8 | | Sevendust Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow
An album riddled with guest appearances, the songs here have never caught my
attention all that much, and it was beginning to appear obvious that the band's
chemistry with Sonny Mayo was deteriorating | 9 | | Sevendust Next
By far the band's low point, the only song that can even be called a highlight is
"Pieces". The band has admitted on many occasions that they felt they rushed the
recording and writing of this, and it shows | |

11.29.13 | I'm prepared to get some shit for ranking Seasons as low as I did | Rice303
11.29.13 | Yeah, replace Alpha with Seasons and then it's literally perfect for me | NapalmCrusader
11.29.13 | Feed in alpha was a long time ago one of my jams, band is cool as hell | Rice303
11.29.13 | This has now convinced me to re-check Alpha and listen to Home, the only Sevendust album I've never heard. Most of these albums clock in at a 4 on here, really don't have many preferences when it comes to this band but Animosity is an absolute blast | someguest
11.29.13 | You should rank Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Slipknot next! | AfterTheBreakdown
11.29.13 | Next is awesome | sapient
11.29.13 | @After I used to think Next was decent, but it wore off of me fast. This Life may be one of my least favorite songs from the band
@Rice definitely re-check Alpha, I was originally unsure about it because most review sites didn't give it much credit, but I really enjoyed it when I eventually gave it the chance. "Deathstar", "Beg to Differ", "Driven", and the title track are all worth the listen | organizedsound
11.29.13 | definitely agree on 1
| organizedsound
11.29.13 | I was big into this band in middle school, and admittedly haven't listened to them in years. They were one of the bands to get me into metal, and furthermore, playing music. The only things I disagree with, from memory-
-alpha is waaaaay too high. maybe i just don't like this one because by the time it was released i was beginning to listen to other shit and kind of threw it aside
-I'm one of those guys that thinks seasons should be really high up
-maybe it's just me, but 12-year-old me thought that Next was awesome.

11.29.13 | I know a lot of people think Seasons is one of their best, but for me, it was disappointing because they lost a lot of the rhythmic attack they had early on in their career. I got a different perspective on alpha because it was the first record I heard material from (specifically "Beg to Differ") | ChuckyTruant
11.29.13 | Interesting ranking. Good though | KjSwantko
11.29.13 | Not that I even like this band all that much, but I'd agree with ranking for the most part. 2 is 1 though for sure. | JustinKing
11.29.13 | Animosity, Alpha, and Home are pretty interchangeable as 1 for me. The band is really solid overall, even at their worst. They never had any real "bad" records, just disappointing ones considering what they're capable of. Definitely one of my favorite alternative metal groups. | FearThyEvil
11.29.13 | I don't care what anyone says. This band has some great albums. I think the album from this year is probably their best one yet. | ChuckyTruant
11.29.13 | ^ m/ | sapient
11.29.13 | Black Out the Sun is one of the year's best records imo | sapient
11.29.13 | And KJ, the self-titled almost beat out Animosity, but Animosity won out because of the overall improved songwriting | organizedsound
11.29.13 | animosity is stupid good
band is proof that "nu-metal" outside of deftones can be good. | NapalmCrusader
11.29.13 | Nu metal is usually a hit and miss genre, there are good acts too ( nottingface, old mudvayne, static x, snot, nonpoint and more) besides people who like Deftones and SOAD and claim that they are not nu metal are comical as hell, I know that it sucks to be put in the same genre than papa roach, crazytown or limp bizkit but c'mon folks. | PayneTiger777
11.29.13 | Still my favorite band to this day. My list is completely different, except for 1 and 9. Mine would be 1,8,4,7,5,2,6,3, and 9. Note that all of their albums to me are at least a 4. | sapient
11.29.13 | @Napalm I'd say Deftones first few album (Including parts of WP) were nu-metal, but later on they shed the genre because they eliminated the rap influence. SOAD I've never particularly seen as nu-metal because they lack the hip-hop/rap influence that's somewhat of a genre cornerstone
I'm actually really happy to see that so many people enjoy this band, A lot of others I've met have written them off because they're labeled under nu-metal, but the genre definitely has it's moments if you look deep enough | Cipieron
11.29.13 | i'm kinda waiting for a Best Of album from these guys.. their albums dont seem consistent enough to warrant a full album purchase | sapient
11.29.13 | I believe they do have a "best of" album of sorts, but it includes a lot of random b-sides and nothing after Seasons, so take that as you will. I'd personally buy 1 as a starting point, it's their most consistent and balance lp imo | NordicMindset
11.29.13 | i liked decay |
