09.14.13 | dragging all my shit from itunes makes copies in the folder I drag to... that's windows though.
in itunes, go to preferences->advanced, and if "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" is checked, all your music is probably in the "iTunes Media folder location" above and you can copy from there. |

09.14.13 | Can I drag all of my itunes music onto the desktop creating a folder and then use that folder for the hard drive? |
TMobotron
09.14.13 | If you moved that desktop folder onto your hard drive then, yeah you could do that but it's just an extra step. you should be able to create a folder on the hard drive called music and just drag it directly there. |
TMobotron
09.14.13 | "just drag it directly there."

Welp |
DrMaximus
09.14.13 | I'm not exactly sure how to do this, because I don't have an external hard drive. I'm on Mac as well, btw. My guess would
be to go to "File" then "Library" and then click "Export Library." |
anarchistfish
09.14.13 | Don't you have the files in explorer or whatever? Don't know how mac works. |
Trebor.

09.14.13 | see if you can open the hard drive in the mac's built-in file browser, not through its own menu. The hard drive might have a button on your little task-bar or your desktop. Or if you open your file browser it might show up on a side-bar. It should be easy to make a folder from there (sorry I've used windows and linux a lot, don't know shit about macs tho). |
DrMaximus
09.14.13 | You didn't get a little pop up window that says "Save As" and "Where"? |
Trebor.
09.14.13 | It won't let me drag anything into the seagate finder menu thing wtf is this shit |
TMobotron
09.14.13 | doesn't that just export an xml file that has info about your library? don't think export library actually exports the mp3s |

09.14.13 | Format your local disk (C:) |
TMobotron
09.14.13 | Trebor I'm pretty sure that's because the seagate menu doesn't work the same as the file browser. You need to find your hard drive in your file browser and then drag to there. At least I think that's the problem. |
TMobotron
09.14.13 | click on this stupid fucker:
http://cryinggorilla.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/mac-finder.jpg
And try to find your HD in there. |
Trebor.
09.14.13 | ahh I think I have to format the drive first or whatever
fuck every time I click on all my music to drag it I have to hold my finger there for like 5 minutes while it loads |
ZilbelPing
09.14.13 | macs are shit, yeah |
Trebor.
09.14.13 | I figured it out
It's going to take like 8 years to copy them all over though
If I try to drag them all at once it loses its shit, gotta do like 700 songs at a time |

09.14.13 | buy a pc where things make sense |
Acanthus
09.14.13 | Cool that you got it to work, sounded as if you we're trying to use the bundled software from he hard drive manufacturer rather
than just using the drive itself; regardless enjoy your extra space! |
