09.12.13 | im pretty sure now we know why walt had that machine gun at the start of season 5, cant even imagine whats gonna go down on the next episodes, as for the music 5 might be the best black metal album i've heard in a while and Pain is Beauty is just so unf. |

09.12.13 | Everyone is going off on how when the shootout happened, nobody got shot straight away despite the fact Uncle Jack and his squad were aiming for a good 2 mins. Should've had straight headshots as soon as they shot. However my concern is how they shot the vehicle Walt was in.
Surely their whole purpose there was to get Walt.....not shoot the vehicle he is inside off.
My theory is the Nazi's are there to capture them, not kill them (hence nobody died during shooting) Gomez will prob die as a threat to the rest to not fuck them over. Walt will say he needs Jesse to cook and killing a DEA agent will only escalate things more. They'll get captured and forced to cook the meth. Eventually months pass by and Walt manages to escape. Similarly to how he did back in the pilot with Amilio and Krazy 8 when he was showing them how to cook the formula. He then goes on the run.
I love how when Jesse said that Walt is "luckier than Hank and Gomez" it links into how the hitman lookalike last episode saved Walts ass from turning himself in and now the Nazi's randomly showing up to save him from being arrested. |
SgtPepper
09.12.13 | "My theory is the Nazi's are there to capture them, not kill them (hence nobody died during shooting)."
- I doubt that. I mean, why would they waste ammunition if they're just going to capture them? If that was the plan I'm sure they would have just used the 'threat of death'. And also, I don't see how capturing them would solve the problem, killing them on the other hand...
I think the reason they missed every single shot is either because Vince Gilligan is trying to build suspense for the next episode that continues the scene or because no one ends up dying. Which I doubt there. I think Hank and Gomez will die. Deviant. said that he predicts Marie will go public about Walt after finding out about her husband's murder, and that definitely fits in with what the flash-forwards portray. I have a feeling Todd will kill Jessie here as well, but I too think that wouldn't be an appropriate death for his character. |
anarchistfish
09.12.13 | they're not gonna force him to cook meth
they're there to make sure walt doesn't get captured, so that he can still show them how to cook the meth |

"Problem is she has no evidence that Walt is Heisenberg or that he killed her husband. Just her word."
And all the paperwork at her house that Hank had been compiling. Again it's all circumstantial but it's far from nothing, and with the entire agency (or at least, one branch of it) working on the case I'm sure they could uncover what they needed |

09.12.13 | the next episode is Ozymandias and i think i read somewhere that gilligan said it's one of the best episodes they've done. bryan cranston reading the poem in this teaser is so good as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRTSxJwq5dA |

one thing that's bothering me is that everyone wants to know "how walt's house gets so messed up" and who wrote heisenberg on the wall etc. there were kids skating in his pool. it's abandoned, it's been vandalised |
MO
09.12.13 | "it's abandoned, it's been vandalised"
nahh that's the pussy way of going about it, such a cop out if that's what it actually is. I think it was Jesse. somehow anyways. maybe he gets away during the shootout and uses what he collected from walt's recorded confession (while driving out to the desert) and brings it to the DEA or someone big in the underground scene. or something
the Heisenberg on the wall is way more important than you think imo |
MO
09.12.13 | " but that would be really obvious which has never been Gilligan's style"
very true. it was just set up for that perfectly though. I mean would Hank really let walt walk away unless he was dead? I mean he may have gotten captured by the Nazi dudes and walt would want to spare him because he's family or something. |
klap
09.12.13 | hank 100% dies. jesse gets away
hank is far past sparing walt at this point even if he did survive.
the house has been vandalized. how is that a cop-out? the flash-forward takes place a whole year in
the future. everyone knows. it would make sense for the house of new mexico's resident drug lord to
become sort of a gnarly place to hang out for delinquents |
Thane
09.12.13 | yeah there was a moment before the shootout where you can clearly see jesse opening the door to the car so i'm sure he gets away, but with the house having a huge fence around it, his neighbours reaction etc i wouldn't say it'd be a cop out. people know who he is by that point. probably on jesse's info, but he was going to burn that place down. spray painting the wall is something a kid would do imo. |
DrMaximus
09.12.13 | ^ Yeah, that would be badass.
Dammit Thane. @ Klap |
MO
09.12.13 | true I guess when I first saw that scene it hit me hard. it would make sense if it was graffiti now that I think that jesse was going to burn it down originally, and spray paint definitely doesn't sting as hard as burning heh. good call lads |
YourDarkAffected
09.12.13 | Agree with Klap. Or if Hank does survive there has to be a really good reason for it because according to their situation, there should be no way out for he and Gomez. Jesse will either escape or be captured by the neo-nazis.

"one thing that's bothering me is that everyone wants to know "how walt's house gets so messed up" and who wrote heisenberg on the wall etc. there were kids skating in his pool. it's abandoned, it's been vandalised"
Not how, but why. What that flash forward showed us was that Walt as a drug lord becomes public knowledge (which is a big deal for the narrative). The state of the house is an obvious one - it's been abandoned and is now a derelict hangout. It also raises the questions of "where are his family?" etc
"hank 100% dies."
This kind of has to happen, in the same way that Mike kinda had to die. Otherwise the show is left with unrealistic loose ends that will just unravel. Either way, I'm glad that they still let Hank "win" (in a fashion) - he did catch/outsmart Walt in the end |
Deviant.
09.13.13 | Also, re the IMDB thing: yeah, it's probably not legit, because IMDB has never been the most remarkable of accurate sources for anything, but in saying that if Hank does die I could definitely see and understand why they might reappear. Walt doesn't want Hank dead, he tried to call off Uncle Jack as soon as he saw him. So who is to say that the sight of Hank dying wouldn't tip him over the edge and cause him to dwell on all those he has killed, either by his own hand or otherwise? |
Yuli
09.13.13 | Only a bummer that if Hank does die from this gun battle, it will be at the hands of the mightily shitty Uncle Jack. |

09.13.13 | The Chekov's gun is kinda meaningless in Breaking Bad now though. We've gotten to the point where everything we see in the show (be it the pink bear, lily of the desert, or whatever) we expect it has a greater significance later on and isn't the definition of the Chekov's gun that it's something we don't suspect as being important later? |
