07.10.13 | Y'all can hate on 10, but Kip Winger was a pretty respected session bassist who was a member of Alice Cooper's touring band. AND the dude could sing. AND he could ballet. AND he made stubble cool. Can't argue with the facts. |
NecrogenicShrimp
07.10.13 | He may be a douche, but Nick Oliveri's vocals sound stellar on the QOTSA tracks that he sings for. |
DrGonzo1937
07.10.13 | Yup. Queens has never been able to get that raw edge they had when Nick Oliveri was in with them. |
TronaldDump
07.10.13 | I immediately thought of your top 3 when I saw your list title. Very good list. |

danielcardoso
07.10.13 | Good list. |
SitarHero
07.10.13 | Gene Simmons isn't a bad singer. But he can't play bass for shit, even if he makes it look cool. |
danielcardoso
07.10.13 | agreed, he's an awful bassist
sadly he only lives for the show biz |
SitarHero
07.10.13 | He's done aight for himself though. Im sure there are plenty of bassists who picked it up cos of him. |
danielcardoso
07.10.13 | Yeah. Whether they like him or not, he has character and you can't take that away from him. |
jefflebowski
07.10.13 | as much as i love the floyd, waters is an average bassist and a terrible singer |

DrGonzo1937
07.11.13 | Troy Sanders?
Jesus, I didn't even think about him. Legend. |
SitarHero
07.11.13 | Sanders was my original 15. But I just like Peter Steele's voice. |
InbredJed
07.11.13 | Steele is coo, sure.
but we are to believe that Kip Winger is more deserving of radical mentions than Mr. Sanders? Perhaps that says more about you than it does about him. |
SitarHero
07.11.13 | Yes. I don't know if Kip is/was a better bass player than Sanders, but he was definitely a very good bass player. He was an excellent singer. Seriously, the guy had some pipes. And he did ballet. Can Sanders do ballet while playing bass and singing. I don't think so. This discussion is dead until Sanders can, or at the very least, do salsa or something. |
InbredJed
07.11.13 | ahahahha touche my friend |
InbredJed
07.11.13 | I just keep forgetting that artistic integrity has nothing to do with your lists |
InbredJed
07.11.13 | .....not that Troy has maintained that |
SitarHero
07.11.13 | Ha! Naah man, Winger (musically, not lyrically) is easily one of the better bands of the '80s. But I look at the intangibles also. |
Dolving999
07.11.13 | Dude...
Caleb Scofield from Cave In. He's like the most menacing screamer ever. |
Curse.
07.11.13 | Peter Steele>>>>>Troy Sanders |

07.11.13 | Unless they're Steve Harris. All lyrics and godly bassist. |
SitarHero
07.11.13 | curseworship knows.
IS Steve Harris a godly bassist? |
SharkLasers
07.11.13 | Tom Araya's so underrated on bass, props for putting him here. I love how technical his work is on Hell Awaits |
SitarHero
07.11.13 | Araya was one of the first guys that came to mind. |

DrGonzo1937
07.13.13 | Can Sanders do ballet while playing bass and singing.
He has a giant beard and a gruff voice, so at least he has something going for him. lol |
SitarHero
07.13.13 | Pssshhh. You really DON'T want to bring facial hair into this. Nothing compares to Winger's permastubble. Not even Burt Reynold's stache. |
