My Year According To Deathwish Inc.

tracking down my musical year with Hardcore superstar lable Deathwish Inc.
1Everything Went Black
Cycles of Light

first album of the year for me, God of Atlantis, Kingdoms, Halo of Vultures make up
for the backbone of an impressive debut by an impressive band.
2Ceremony
Zoo

a bit underwhelmed when this came out, most songs are bland and try to hard to
imitate Sex-Pistols era punk, not entirely abysmal as some claim it to be but still
pretty bland.
3Narrows
Painted

im affraid i've not yet spent too much time with this album but from what i recall it
was pretty good, might go back to it in a few.
4Rise And Fall
Faith

with a surprising start this bad boy over here shows lots of promise at first,
although most songs tend to stick to the new "sludge/crust-y" Hardcore formula its
still an impressive album and it lives up to the bands amazing back catalogue.
5Loma Prieta
I.V.

one of the most prominent releases this year, Loma really hit home with this one
from the get go with Fly By Night, from start to finish this is a unparalleled and
gritty road, amazing album.
6Birds In Row
You, Me, And the Violence

colosal wall of sound is the best way to describe this, along with its twist and
turns, the somber melody that serves as the album spine and the superb
instrumentation this has to be one, if not the most prominent album, from one of
the most prominent band on the labels roaster, and it sure as hell takes the cake as
my AOTY for 2012 followed close by....
7Converge
All We Love We Leave Behind

Mr. J. Bannon and company might have just put out their most accesible album
ever, and thats not to say its bad, its amazing and impressive but it seemed a bit
underwhelming to me at the begining, it was only after i got the full version with
songs like "On Her Shield" and "No Light Escapes" that my opinion started to shift to
a more balanced one, album fucking ace.
8Whips/Chains
Master/Slave

havent got much chance to check this out, will do as soon as i cant, pretty stoked
though.
