savagecabbage 12.07.12	Can't really judge. My knowledge of paradiddles and rhythm is lacking and I'm not properly educated in the area of percussion to make such a claim. Both are great, but to my ears Danny Carey, But you should listen to Toe and be blown away sometime.
DamnVanne 12.07.12	It's almost meaningless to put one above the other, because both of them kick so much ass. I've been listening to both for several years now and I don't even view them as playing the same style. Portnoy has some killer dynamics in his own right, and Danny Carey makes ridiculous grooves feel like just another metal beat (in a good way). I can't put one over the other, because when listening to either one I think, "there is almost no one who could play this, and even fewer who could conceive it".

DiegoPujolT 01.15.14	Mike Portnoy. Carey is good and plays more complicated stuff, but Portnoy's my favorite. His style and easily recognizable sound make him a better artist. If you think Carey is a god (like MANY seem to think), go listen to Matt Halpern, Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, etc.
