Albums That I Recently Started Appreciating

I have listened to all of these albums in High School and I suppose they were too brutal for my youthful ears. Thanks to a bunch of recs from Sputnik users I've rediscovered these albums (I'm a senior in college now) mostly over the past month, and I am baffled at how I shrugged off some of the most amazing death metal albums of all time. Thanks Sputnik, you've helped me rediscover the best of one of my favorite genres- death metal
1Demilich
Nespithe

I couldn't get past the burping vocals when I was younger. In all honesty, I'm still getting used
to them because they're so out of the ordinary, but the musicianship is amazing on this.
2Suffocation
Effigy of the Forgotten

I used to like later Suffocation much more because the vocals weren't as intense. That was
stupid. This is now my favorite Suffocation album and one of my favorite death metal releases.
3Immolation
Close To A World Below

This used to strike me as generic death metal, but that was before I knew anything about music
compositions, etc. This album is a classic that I didn't even realize until earlier today.
4Atheist
Unquestionable Presence

This band never really clicked with me when I was younger. I guess it was too old school? The
production and the classy style ironically drew me away from them, now it's why I love them. No
one really recommended this band to me but I saw everyone rave about them on this site so I
figured I'd give them another shot and man I'm glad I did.
5Nile
Annihilation of the Wicked

I don't know why I couldn't get through this when I was younger, but I was never able to finish
the whole album...too much insanity at once I guess, didn't know where to focus. I grew out of
that shit, this album rules.
6Incantation
Onward to Golgotha

I never heard this album before today, but it was worth a shoutout because of how awesome it is
and because Sputnik users recommended it to me. Only listened to this album twice, but man it's
great.
