I was pretty involved and did a fair amount of messin' around, but I always made sure I had good grades, too. If you can do that, college is pretty awesome. Try to get good professors and work on figuring out what you actually have to do for each class, too. Most of the time you'll have more time for messing around in your first two years, though there are some majors/schools where it's the opposite. Just make sure you're always on top of your work and you can do whatever you want afterward.
Coming from high school, you should know that you won't have the same classes every day (unless you're somewhere shitty). Resist the urge to stack everything into just Tuesday/Thursday classes (having to do 4 classes worth of work two nights a week sucks more than doing 1-2 classes worth of work every night of the week). However, if you get the chance, DO give yourself at least a semester or two with no Friday classes. 3 day weekends every weekend = the best. |

08.03.12 | Remember how high school had all of those rules and they still treated you like a kid even though you were 17/18? Yeah, colleges treat you like an adult. |
Trebor.
08.03.12 | Yeah and in general most people act like adults in college
The occasional asshole gets thrown out of class but that's funny anyway

08.03.12 | You'll always have that one freshman in at least one of your classes (I'm a sophomore when Fall semester starts next Monday) that will try to act up and make jokes before the professor makes an example of him. |
