| The Recent French Music Scene
Well during my first list I was asked to do a similar one but for my home country France, rbecause in case you didn't know , we weren't all swallowed by the gojira hype (yep we have rother good bands) , There is no perticular order and these are pretty much all worth checking rout , If you know other recent good french bands (you never know) don't hesistate and rgive'em out .Ps: I initially wanted 9 bands like I did for the first list unfortunatly most of the rother bands I wanted to talk about were unfindable. | 1 | | 100 Raisons 100 Raisons
Almost cult band right now in france within the ska-punk scene , they incorporate
elements of folk ad reggae within their sound (more precisely celtic folk) and are
overall an awesome and diverse ska-punk act , The lyrics are also worth checking
out if you thought france was a calm country . | 2 | | C2C Down The Road
I had complaints about the lack of electro in my last list , so I went to ask one of
my mates aboute the good electro going on , he pointed out lazer sword (but I
wasn't sure if they were french) , Jazzbit (they hadn't released an LP yet) and C2C ,
he told me to put them all in the list so in the end here you have C2C ! | 3 | | Hynpo5e Des Deux l'une Est l'autre
Never trust a band by its shitty name ! Such is the case for Hypno5e , they are an
avant-garde french ambient metal band with a lot of creativity and ideas so go into
you mind ,imagine their name is Hypnose and go listen to them... | 4 | | As We Draw Lines Breaking Circles
As we draw is pretty much an awesome band composed of a trio of 3 talented
musicians , the site says they are post-hardcore or metalcore...bullshit , they are
hard to define though , they are similar to a post-metal band but with a
faster, sludgier sound , If you enjoyed Isis or Breach you should dig this , they also
fantastic riffs going on and give all their material for free so what are you waiting
for ?! | 5 | | 45 Secondes 45 Secondes
Punk and hardcore punk quartet , these chunky lads put on tight live shows and
have recently been added a great bassist so they could deserve more attention | 6 | | Punish Yourself Pink Panther Party
Here's probably the most bizarre band on this list , the have been described by
wikipedia as a "Cyberpunk-Fluo-Zombie" band , that seems accurate I suppose ,
honestly they have put on the best live concert I have ever been to ! they even
accompany there music with little shows on stage , one time this hot zombie chick
came on stage with a chainsaw and a metal plate around her waist , she started
cutting through it and made all the sparks come on us . If you come to france (wich
I would not recommend) go and catch one of their live shows. | 7 | | Comity The Journey is Over Now
Probably going to end up writing a review for this , these guys have toured with
dillinger , converge and more and I demand to know why they have little to no light
on them. Describing their sound is also tough , they can come as experimental but
I would say they are a progressive mathcore band with black metal tendencies
(chaotic atmosphere) , They are on the same label as "as we draw" wich also
makes them a free download , if you like mathcore and have patience to absorb
this monster , go check out the journey is over now. | |
