Conceived in 2004 by front man/guitarist David DiSanto and lead guitarist Erik Nelson, Vektor quickly gained popularity amongstthe Phoenixmetal contingent for their unique mix of technical, speed thrash and progressive influences. Vektor created a wave ofinterest with their selfreleased CDDemolition (2006) and their two track demo Hunger for Violence (2007). After four yearsoflocal and regional performances as theopening act for such national acts as Testament, Hirax, Iced Earth and MunicipalWaste,Vektor hit the road for their first national touralongside label mates Exmortus insupport of Black Future in December2009through January 2010. They also toured the US in June–August2010 on their own. The band released its second album, Outer Isolation, on November 22, 2011, on the Heavy Artillery label. In 2012, the band signed with Earache Records after the label acquired Heavy Artillery's roster of artists. After several years oftouring andthe band's relocation to Philadelphia, their third album, Terminal Redux, a conceptual work with a runtime of over 70minutes, was releasedon May 6, 2016. In December 2016, guitarist Erik Nelson, bassist Frank Chin and drummer Blake Anderson announced via the band's Facebookpage that theywould be leaving the band to pursue different projects for reasons the band chose to keep private. The post statedthat there was "no bigstory or drama," but "people and personalities simply change and drift apart and we've reached our limit."The post was later removed byDiSanto, who stated in his own post that Vektor would continue on and that he would keep writingand recording music, stating that "As longas I live, Vektor will not die." « hide
