Tsunematsu Matsui

Tsunematsu Matsui is a Japanese musician. He got his first break in the 80s as a member of the iconic group Boowy, before embarking on a solo career following Boowy’s disbandment in 1988. Unlike the poppy solo material of fellow Boowy members Kyosuke Himuro and Tomoyasu Hotei, Matsui’s solo material tended to have a much more experimental, gothic and atmospheric sound to it, frequently collaborating with Western vocalists on his albums. As a result, he has not had even near the same commercial success as Himuro or Hotei, although he has managed to develop a strong cult following for his solo work throughout the years.
