The Jets

The Jets are a family-centered pop band from Minnesota that first formed in 1977. The Jets are a family-centered pop band from Minnesota that first formed in 1977. Centered around the large-in-number Wolfgramm family, they were originally known as Quasar, before later changing their name to The Jets in 1982. The group had great success throughout the mid and late 1980’s, acquiring several top 10 singles, with their most popular being their 1986 single “Crush on You”, which was a smash hit in the UK and the US. The success of “Crush on You” led their 1985 self-titled debut album to be certified platinum in the US. After their success dwindled greatly by 1990, The Jets disbanded in 1992, although they later reunited in 1995, and released their comeback album, “Love People”, on an independent label that year. The Jets released one more original album in 1997, “Love Will Lead the Way”, followed by the 1998 compilation album “Then & Now”. By 1998, certain older members were replaced by younger relatives of the Wolfgramm family. The Jets began largely decreasing activities by 2000, usually performing only a few sporadic lives throughout the next few years. In 2006, The Jets released “Versatility”, which was their first original album release in 9 years. In 2009, the original lineup of the group reunited and embarked on a 25th anniversary tour which spanned from 2009 through 2010, although they would later slow activities down once more in 2011. In 2013, The Jets returned once more, and released “Reunited” in 2014, which featured four brand new songs and six re-recordings of their earlier popular singles. In 2015, tensions within the group reached a boiling point as the group split into two, with both group using the name of The Jets. Although technically at the very least the name of the group is still active, the actual group as a whole has not performed or recorded together since. « hide
