Sugar. was a legendary female pop trio from Japan that first formed in 1980. The trio are considered to be groundbreaking for
having an idol-like image, while maintaining a reputation as songwriters, which would go on to influence artists like Mimori Yusa.
After having a strong run of commercial success, Sugar. ended up disbanding in 1987. In 1990, bassist and lead member Mori
passed away from childbirth complications. She was only 29 years old.
