Sugar Soul

Sugar Soul was a Japanese R&B/pop trio that formed in 1996. The trio notably had considerable success throughout 1999 and2000 in particular, with their 2000 album, "Uzu", reaching number 3 on the Oricon charts, becoming their best-selling release todate. In 2001, at the height of their popularity, Sugar Soul went on a mysterious hiatus before announcing their official idisbandment in 2003. The only member who went on to immediately remain active in the music scene was DJ Hasebe, who became one of the most well known producers and songwriters of the 2000's Japanese hip hop scene. In 2010, Sugar Soul's singer Aiko returned as a member of the trio KAM, and also announced that she would resume Sugar Soul as a solo project of hers, which she remains active in today.
