mild success, their next single, "Tell Me", would prove to be vastly more successful, as it reached number 10 on the US Rap chart. While the
single proved to be a smash, the follow-up album, 2003's "Crash the Party", would have mediocre sales, as it only reached number 94 on the
Billboard chart.
Smilez and Southstar would release two more singles, "Now That You're Gone" and "U Know", with only the former entering the charts at
number 108 on the US R&B chart. The duo were then dropped from the label by 2004. Without a label, Smilez and Southstar's recording career
went on a hiatus, although they would sporadically tour for the next few years. In 2006, Smilez and Southstar returned with the release of their
first internet single "Handcuffin", which ultimately failed to get any attention. After three years of silence, Smilez and Southstar officially
disbanded in 2010. « hide |
