Sista

Sista was an R&B group from Virginia that is best known for being the first known act of future rap superstar Missy Elliott. Formed in 1989 under the name of Fayze, the group wound up changing its name to Sista in 1993, going major by signing to Elektra Records by the end of the year. Sista then released one single, "Brand New", and one album, "4 All the Sistas Around Da World", in 1994. Sista released one last single in 1995, "It's Alright", which featured Craig Mack and was also used on the soundtrack for hit movie Dangerous Minds. The Dangerous Minds soundtrack eventually sold over 3 million copies, thus giving Sista somewhat of a pulse.
