Sheena and the Rokkets was an influential Japanese rock band that first formed in 1978. They are known for theirquirky,electro-
influenced style, although their later material tended to experiment with more of a punky edge. The group took ahiatusin 2001,
but returned in 2006, later releasing "Japanik" in 2008, their first release in eight years. In February of 2015,frontwoman Sheena
passed away from cervical cancer at the age of 61. This abruptly led to the end of Sheena and theRokkets, although their
influence and significance remains strong to this very day, over three decades after they originally gottogether.
