Sevendust is an Atlanta, Georgia-based hard rock band that emerged in 1994 under the name "Crawlspace". Eventually, awestcoastgroupclaimed the rights to that name forcing them to change it to Sevendust. In 1997, they released theirmelodiclyheavy self-titled debutfeaturingthrash-like drumming from one of modern rock's greatest drummers, Morgan Rose, andthe R&Brooted vocals of Lajon Witherspoon.Theirmusic ranges from soft and melodic to fast-paced and heavy. Sevendustgained largecommercial success after the release of2001'sAnimosity and over the course of their career they have sold over 4millionrecords in the United States.
