Northside is an alternative rock band from Manchester, England. Formed in 1988, the group had huge underground success
throughout the early 1990's, and their light psychedelic-influenced sound was considered to be highly influential in the early
development of the madchester/baggy subgenres, which would later become one of the UK's most financially successful music
trends of the early 1990's.
In 1991, Northside released their first album, "Chicken Rhythms", which proved to be a mild commercial success as it reached

trends of the early 1990's.
In 1991, Northside released their first album, "Chicken Rhythms", which proved to be a mild commercial success as it reached
number 19 on the UK Albums chart. Although the group were reportedly in the works of a second album, their label, Factory
Records, declared bankruptcy in November of 1992, and Northside then ended up disbanding by 1995. The group temporarily
reunited throughout 2007 and 2008, before officially reuniting in 2013, and the group continue to sporadically tour today. « hide |
