Mitski Miyawaki's music is an eclectic mix of pop, rock and singer-songwriter with a flair for experimentation, but unified by an emotionally weighty, often forlorn aesthetic, and acclaimed throughout underground music circles. Mitski's 2012 debut LUSH displayed a dark, piano-oriented style that evolved to accommodate a much broader instrumental pallet on her follow-up Retired from Sad, New Career in Business. Mitski recently refocused her sound on the garage/punk/indie rock influenced bury me at makeout creek, released in November of 2014.
