The sole single from the album was the popular “Gangsta Strut”, which was released on 12-inch both as a retail pressing and as a club promotional pressing. The group gained a considerable fan base in the South, particularly Houston and Dallas, owing both to their laid back “Southern” G-Funk production which paid homage to both earlier West Coast acts, and also their loose affiliation with DJ Screw, whose 7 minute remix of their song "South Side" proved to be integral in earning them respect and elevated status amongst the South. They also had a slight national buzz in the late 90's when associate Lil' Troy got huge success throughout 1998 and 1999. Despite everything seemingly going their way, Mass 187 seemed to have disbanded in 2002. « hide
