Koji Kurumatani is a Japanese rock musician. He first made his debut as the guitarist of the cult punk group, Baku, and thenwent on to experience
even more critical success as half of the legendary Shibuya-kei duo, Spiral Life. Since Spiral Life's split inlate 1996, Kurumatani has been on a rather
successful solo career, initially releasing all of his albums under the alias of Air. Mostof Air's early albums broke the Oricon top 20, up until 2003's
"One". In 2010, he released his first album without the alias of Air,and this time used Laika Came Back, which he is apparently still using currently.
Kurumatani is considered to be one of the mostinfluential solo artists in the Japanese alternative scene.
