Kid 'n Play is a hip-hop/pop duo that originally formed in 1984. The duo are known, primarily, for their signature look (most famously, Kid wearing a classic eraserhead haircut) and for their signature dance, which they called the "funky Charleston". The success of the duo spawned a Saturday morning cartoon, which was called Kid 'n Play, and lasted from 1990 until 1991. The duo are also well known for starring in the cult House Party films. The success of the duo spawned a Saturday morning cartoon, which was called Kid 'n Play, and lasted from 1990 until 1991. The duo are also well known for starring in the cult House Party films. However, the lackluster box office success of the 1994 House Party 3 film, as well as its scathing reception, signaled an end for the duo, and Kid 'n Play wound up splitting in 1995. However, the duo did temporarily from 2002 through 2006, before officially reuniting in 2009, and since their official reunion, Kid 'n Play have appeared on numerous TV shows and commercials, as well as toured extensively across the world. « hide |
