Kan is a Japanese pop rock musician. Making his major debut in 1987, it would take him three more years to reach mainstream popularity. His fifth full length album, 1990's "Yakyuu Senshu ga Yume Datta.", reached number 2 on the Oricon charts, and became the 17th best selling album of 1991. He would continue to have relatively high success throughout the early 1990's, until 1994's "Shinonome", which failed to enter the Oricon top 20, and instead reached number 24. This would appear to mark the end of his impressive Oricon reign. Nonetheless, he remains to be one of the most successful and influential solo artists in Japan from the 1990's.
