in 1997 due to the tragic murder of The Notorious B.I.G., probably due to the fact that the rapper was the true backbone of the
Junior M.A.F.I.A. name. After the breakup, member Lil' Kim went on to become one of the best selling female emcees of all time,
selling an impressive total of over 10 million records worldwide. In 2005, Junior M.A.F.I.A. attempted a comeback, with the
release of their 2005 album, "Riot Musik". The lineup trimmed down to a trio, versus the original ten-member lineup. The revival
of Junior M.A.F.I.A. also did not include Lil' Kim, for unknown reasons. Commercially, the "Riot Musik" album ended up selling
extremely poorly, especially when compared to the "Conspiracy" record, and Junior M.A.F.I.A. ended up splitting once more in
2008. « hide |
