Hanatarash is a controversial underground Japanese noise duo that consists of noise pioneer Eye Yamantaka and Zeni Geva
guitarist Mitsuru Tabata. Formed in 1983, the duo soon became the talk of the then-rising noise underground for their extremely
dangerous live shows, which included the likes of sawing a dead kitten in half with a machete, crashing into a venue with a
bulldozer and threatening to burn down another venue with a Molotov cocktail. Although Hanatarash has never announced an
official disbandment, it has been on a mysterious hiatus since 1998.
