Derita Sisters are a punk band from California that have been active since 1992. Originally formed as Derita Sisters and Jr., their
name originates from a vaudeville act comprising of Joe Derita and his sisters, with Joe going by the name of Junior. In 1999, the
group changed their name simply to The Derita Sisters, and then finally to just Derita Sisters. Inspired by the likes of Fear and
The Dead Milkmen, many of their lyrics are satirical and comedic in nature. They were also notably featured in the infamous
1999 film, The Underground Comedy Movie.
