Barbie Almalbis is a popular musician from the Philippines. She first made her mark on the scene in 1996 as the frontwoman for
the short lived trio, Hungry Young Poets, which disbanded by mid-1998. She then went on to form Barbie's Cradle with former
Hungry Young Poets drummer Franklin Benitez, which had some impressive success within the Philippines. However, the group
ended up splitting in late 2005, and Almalbis has been a successful solo musician ever since.
