Alamid was an alternative/hard rock band that first formed in 1987. Although they formed in 1987, it would take the group nearly five years to establish a core following, and in 1993, Alamid became a major act when they signed to Warner Bros. Records. In 1994, Alamid released their self-titled debut album to great commercial success, with the lead single of the album, "Your Love", winning the award for Song of the Year at the 1995 annual NU107 Rock Awards. Alamid was an alternative/hard rock band that first formed in 1987. Although they formed in 1987, it would take the group nearly five years to establish a core following, and in 1993, Alamid became a major act when they signed to Warner Bros. Records. In 1994, Alamid released their self-titled debut album to great commercial success, with the lead single of the album, "Your Love", winning the award for Song of the Year at the 1995 annual NU107 Rock Awards. Alamid would go on to release two more commercially successful albums, before mysteriously disbanding in 2000. In 2004, Alamid returned, and in 2005, the group independently released "Anting Anting", which was their first original album release in eight years. Alamid would go on to tour throughout the next decade quite heavily, although in 2015, vocalist and founding member Gary Ignacio passed away from multiple organ failure due to complications of bone cancer at the age of 49. Alamid attempted to carry on with vocalist Carl McFly, although after only performing a few shows with McFly, Alamid ended up disappearing once more, and is presumed to have since disbanded. « hide |
