American Hi-Fi formed in Boston, MA in 1999 and were comprised of 4 veterans of the underground music scene.Vocalist/guitarist Stacy Jones
hadpreviously been a drummer in the bands Letters To Cleo and Veruca Salt, Jamie Arentzenhad previously played guitar in the Sky Heroes, Drew
Parsonshad played bass in Tracy Bonham's band, and Brian Nolan hadplayed drums for the band Fig Dish.
In 2001, AH-F released their self-titled debut album through Island Records. Produced by Bob Rock (Metallica, Motley Crue),it contained the

singles"Another Perfect Day" and the catchy-as-hell "Flavor Of The Weak". That was followed in 2003 with"The Art Of Losing", this time produced by
NickLaunay (Semisonic). Songs on this album like "Teenage Alien Nation" and thetitle track showcased a harder edge to the band. Due to lack of sales
ofthis record, Island Records let them go at the end of2003, while the band were touring with Matchbox Twenty. Around this time, Brian Nolan left
theband to concentrate on beinga father.
In 2004, AH-F signed to Maverick Records and found themselves a new drummer in Jason Sutter and in April 2005, theyreleased their third
album,"Hearts On Parade", which includes the singles "The Geeks Get The Girls" and "Hell Yeah!"In 2006,the band gave their song "The Rescue" fot
theSuperman Soundtracks which went on promotion for the film.
The band recorded their fifth album and released the album "Fight the Frequency" independantly in 2010 after a long 5 yearsbreak.
